Borealis Mark 8B

Coles Manufacturing is proud to present the Mark 8B Borealis, our Tier 2 Attack class submarine.
Featuring 3 Small turrets, 1 comes free with purchase, a Double coil-gun as well as a Railgun for dealing with heavier threats.

But Wait there’s more! The Borealis also comes with an Attached enhanced combat Drone, with its own Coil-gun, slung on the bottom aft of the Hull and accessible via its control room. Please ensure the drone is charged, or charging before disconnecting. While this Drone has little to no practical use while slung, its ability to detach and provide covering fire for the main sub should not be underrated.

This vessel has top and bottom airlocks for your convenience. A functional Fabricator, fully furnished med-bay, and tiny crew quarters.

The Mark 8B Drone can carry crew and provide mobile fire support, useful for some missions. though it is a chonky boy.

The Main sub has a recharge button in the drone control bay, this toggles power to the lower docking port, its a quick and dirty way of limiting energy to the Drone, if the drones batteries are not recharging, check this button. The drone also has its own power management buttons, and certain combinations can prevent recharge. You may want to check if the drones batteries are discharging when you load in.

The Borealis has a top speed of 23 km/h, a handy ascent speed of 18 km/h and a respectable descent speed (without artificial flooding) of 14 km/h.
