Gamemode: Operation (4 phases)

By Friday 22nd, Market Garden had already failed. As XXX Corps finally approached Arnhem, it was clear they were days too late; the men in Oosterbeek were suffering intensely and the bridge was firmly back under German control. To complicate the situation, German units gathered enough strength to launch a counterattack near Veghel, severing Hell's Highway and effectively encircling XXX Corps and the 82nd Airborne Division. Whilst the road was eventually reopened by the 101st, the further delay reminded the Allies of the precarious situation they were in and showed them the Germans were still capable of very effective counterattacks.
