Description

This is a unofficial release of the rarely updated Media Player addon, the focus here is to keep the Media Player updated as possible.

Key Information

Compatibility: Ensure you are using the Chromium, x86-64 version of Garry's Mod.
Uninstall: Please uninstall the original addon by Sam, as it is not compatible with this version.
Credits: All rights go to the original addon creator and contributors over the years.

Important Notes

Long-term support for YouTube may be challenging due to ongoing technical changes by YouTube, which can lead to issues.
If you see a white page after a YouTube ad or a Fullscreen ad, simply reload the player. we cannot solve this problem from our side.
Local videos on the computer cannot be played, consider uploading it somewhere.

Fixes and Updates

GMod Developers' Fixes: The GMod developers are actively working on fixes. This cannot be resolved solely by the mod author.
Branch Requirement: This addon no longer works on the default version of Garry's Mod. You need to switch to the x86-64 branch. Note that this branch is under active development and may cause your game to crash. Follow the guide on the Facepunch Wiki[wiki.facepunch.com] to switch to the 'dev' branch, but select x86-64 instead.
YouTube Support: YouTube has stopped supporting old video encodings used by GMod. The GMod devs are updating the game to use Chromium/CEF. You can track progress in the #next-update channel of the GMod Discord.

Additional Requirements

CEFCodecFix: You will need to install the CEFCodecFix. Choose the right guide for your operating system:

Lambda Players ≠ Real Players, they can't handle web requests.

Lambdaplayer compatibility had been request media player but title always Unknown and you can't control video player or video endless unless next button

i can't reproduce this bug, that's a bit strange. Is it always like this or does it behave differently when you restart the game?

idk if its my addons or its from media player itself, but when i try to add a video from youtube, it says "search for media" instead of "request url", is there anyway to fix this?

So far I have not noticed anything regarding YouTube, there is no guarantee that YouTube will work in the long term, things are constantly being changed. The only important thing is to always use the x86-64 bit beta and CEF codec fix, because it helps to ensure that videos are played back without any problems
