Description
This is a port of my favorite AT gun, the 12.8cm Pak 44 from Robz Realism mod.
I used it a ton in that back in the MOWAS 2 days and no one seems to have ported it so went ahead and learned how to do all that myself, also gave it some tlc while I was at it so it's more up to date and "complete".

Features
  • Expanded crew
    The gun is now crewed by 5 men instead of 2.
  • Updated textures
    All textures have been upscaled and tweaked.
  • Winter texture!
    Automatically applied like all vanilla winter texmods.
  • Damage model/paper puppet
  • New icons for all modes
  • Model scale and bones adjusted
    The gun is 20% bigger, wheels are bigger, it links up to towing vehicles properly now.
  • Sound fixed
    The gun has traverse, move and reload sounds as it should.
  • MP integration
    Available as a tier 3 unit for late war german "Defense of the Reich" defensive doctrine.
  • Conquest integration
    Unlockable after the Pak 43 at gun.
  • Usable by AI (I think!)
    Should show up rarely in Conquest and MP (unless the AI still has trouble spawning towed guns?)

It should be fairly balanced in terms of cost and such, it hits as hard as the Jagdtigers 128mm but reloads 3 seconds faster. It's still slow though and is awkward to move around like most big guns are, its also fairly expensive.
The MP doctrine call in version comes with a towing vehicle, while the Conquest version is just the gun on it's own.
The large shield is fairly sturdy and protects the crew for the most part.

It's not compatible with most unit mods and mods that add/touch mp/conquest units, so this is meant more to show how these things are done so you can merge it with whatever. You don't have to patch and keep this separate, you can just straight up grab the whole mod, I don't care.

I don't plan on updating this in case an update breaks it, so if you want to take it over, use it in your own mod and so on you do you. I've included a documentation file in the main directory of the mod where I explain what I learned here so it should be fairly easy to work with.

I would have liked to mess with the model a bit in a 3D modelling program also (wanted to disable the wheels when deployed, make the left and right stilts raise when undeployed and try and figure out why the gun doesn't fully reset when undeploying), but there is absolutely zero on this. Blender is a bust, 3DS Max 2021+ is a no go, 2020 doesn't even install and the one guide I found was junk, so I'm at a loss there. If anyone knows what version you're supposed to use or how to access these models besides an ancient version of Blender with Bjorns plugin I'd love to hear about it.

Ye, purely an incompatibility issue like I said in the desc, it's not compatible with mods that modify conquest and mp units. It also modifies the vanilla third person camera files, the interaction entity entity file, unit registry and mp/conquest AI lua files.

I can't separate the files I modified, or you'd end up with a Pak 44 that has no traverse/move sound, has no third person/first person camera, can't be spawned ingame and can't be used by AI, so you're meant to merge this with other mods manually.

It's more proof of concept/an example for modders than something you'd chuck into a modlist, so it is what it is.

Great mod! I also appreciate the thorough documentation.

Is it acceptable to bundle this (and give credit) to an all-in-mod I am working on (that integrates several mods together for compatibility and stability)?
