Serpent class Guided Missile Destroyer standard briefing
Ship Name: Serpent Ship Class: Serpent Ship Type: Guided Missile Destroyer Stats: - Cost: 212,246 Resources - Blocks: 5,154 - Speed: 32m/s Main Weapon: - 8x VLS large missile tubes (Kinetic, Frag) (LUA guided top-down attack) - 2x8x VLS Medium missile tubes (HEAT) (LUA guided top-down attack) - 3x2 Simple Revolving Blast Gun turrets (Anti-Kamikaze, not 100% reliable against erratic targets) Defenses: - Armor (Metal beam slopes + alloy + stone) - Smoke - 12x medium missile/torpedo hybrid intercept launchers Description: The Serpent is a guided missile destroyer operated by the Autonomous Fleet. The ship's offensive armament consists entirely of L.U.A. coordinated anti-ship missiles, which are programmed to cruise toward the target at an altitude of 500m before diving down and impacting the deck. This angle of attack not only exploits the weak deck armor possessed by most vessels but also significantly reduces the chance of the missiles being intercepted as most CIWS target prioritization systems will not register the missiles as a threat until their terminal phase. The Serpent class is often used as a flotilla leader and command ship due to its large suite of sensor and communication systems. The Serpent is also believed to be a replacement for the AF's Porcupine Arsenal Ships, with field sightings of the porcupine having decreased by 50% by ████/██/██. In comparison to the Porcupine class, intercepted psionic transmissions have shown that the Serpent is not only cheaper but also possesses more firepower and capabilities. Commanders engaging a Serpent are recommended to engage the ship with submarines with a dive depth of more than 100m, as the serpent's missiles have been recorded to be able to occasionally hit shallowly submerged targets. Fast aircraft are also recommended as the Serpent's anti-ship missiles are incapable of tracking fast or erratic targets. Similarly, it is recommended for commanders to maneuver their craft in a sinusoidal pattern as the missiles have been known to miss targets performing sharp turns.

Note: Missiles have a range of roughly 1700m
