Description
You can play as a zombie.


How to become a Zombie-Player
  • Whenever you are infected by the zombification, there is a percentage of chances that you become a Player-Zombie instead.
  • Whenever you are hit by another Zombie-Player, there is a percentage of chances that you become a Player-Zombie (instantly) instead.
  • Both percentages can be modified from sandbox options.
  • Once infected by a zombie, the transformation occures when the player's health falls down at or below 15 percent (modifiable from sandbox options).


Movement Animations
  • Idle, Walk, Run and Sprint animations are now those of the zombies.
  • Crouch animations are replaced by zombie Crawling animations (for Idle, Walk and Run).
  • Aiming & Strafing animations are replaced by Lunge animations.
  • Turn animations are adapted to zombies.
  • Window and small fence vaults use partially zombies animations.


Combat Animations
  • Shove animations is replaced by Bite-Attack animation.
  • Bite-Attack animation is validated on the Victim side if the attacker is closer than 1m.
  • Bite-Attack distance can be modified from sandbox options.
  • Lunge animation is fun but not practical: any movement direction request will make the Zombie-Player follow the mouse cursor.
  • I recommend to attack with Shove from normal movement without activating the new Aiming/Lunge mode.


Other Animations
  • A death animation occures when the player transforms.


Zombie-Player specifics
  • Capacity to equip any weapon is removed. Can be deactivated from sandbox options.
  • Nothing can stress you anymore. Can be deactivated from sandbox options.
  • Feast on corpse: [Contextual Menu] consume a dead body to heal, eat, drink and decrease boredom and get happiness. Increases drunkenness.
  • Rest on ground: [Contextual Menu] decreases exhaustion and fatigue. Increases boredom.
  • Bang on door/window: [Automatic] Basic zombie instinct of banging stuff takes on when you are doing nothing next to a door or window. No damage is done.
  • Shouts: credits to Poltergeist and their Shout sound mod.
  • Zombie Skin: credits to Authentic Peach as this function is based on what is shown in AuthenticZ.


Technical details
  • Zombie Animations are forced onto the Player. As a (clunky) result, animations do not blend correctly. All help on that is welcome.
  • Most of turning actions will produce a warning in the console. Afaik, there is no other consequence.
  • Zombies do not attack Zombie-Players. Can be reactivated from sandbox options.
  • If you activate weapons wielding, get ready for animations inconsistencies.
  • There is no cure. But you can use the one from They Knew or Zombie Cure.
  • It works in solo and multiplayer (coop untested).
  • Once you have been infected (vanilla virus), consecutive zombies attacks will not trigger the Zombie-Player infection chance anymore. Unless your cure it.
  • On Multiplayer, quit the server properly to save the infection status.
  • Admin and debug level players are godlike by default. Remove god powers for a normal experience.
  • Debug level players can use a test panel to add / remove the infection (a new tab on character panel).
  • This mod can safely be added to, removed from your saves (except for Zombie immunity that requires you to die or be cured before removing the mod).


Incompatibilities
  • Incompatible (at some degree) with all mods that use IsoGameCharacter.ZombiesCantAttack.
  • Incompatible (at some degree) with all mods that use IsoZombie.setUseless.
You can still play with those mods but need to turn off following sandbox option: Zombie-Players are not attacked by zombies.

@がしゃ That sounds like an awesome idea. It could be a rare drug. Though it would have to have some zombie downsides like while partly zombified if you spot a human you are uncontrollably drawn to them or you are ravenous and need to quench your hunger with some sorta meat or else risk losing control. You can technically eat a corpse but that runs the risk of consequences.

There should be a mod that enables you to become 'zombified' and shamble your way through hordes and being able to undo it, maybe like setting it as a timer, using a drug to temporarily zombify, maybe a get out of jail free card in some cases if used right, but you'd need the trait to be able to do that. Just a thought I had

@Tchernobill Hello there! I really love the Infected Player mod you made. My friends and I can't get enough of it. But we do have a few questions. First, we know that you can turn a zombie back into a human by removing the infection in debug mode. But now, my friend has turned on debug mode, and he can't join my server. What should we do?
