Do y'all remember OFF? Yeah, that one RPG Maker game made by Mortis Ghost back in like... 2008. It's nearly 15 years old. I still remember it. I remember the game, its story, its surrealism, its art style... but I especially remember the soundtrack, made by Alias Conrad Coldwood. In fact, I still listen to it all the time today, and I've been listening to it for over 6 years at this point. And just over a year ago, I discovered the rest of ACC's music, compiled on the Unproductive FunTime website, and I've been listening to that stuff ever since.

If you're like me, and enjoy OFF's musical atmosphere and all the other works made by ACC, then I think you'll like this mod. Introducing...

The OFF OST Replacement Mod!
(... plus other songs by Alias Conrad Coldwood.)

Now, I'm quite aware that an OFF music mod already exists (made by Steam user "Birdie"), but I've come here to improve and build on what Birdie had previously accomplished with their mod.

Firstly, this mod doesn't just cover OFF's original OST. It also covers the Extended Soundtrack, the Crying Girls album, and a few other, smaller OSTs ACC had made for other projects (God Head, Duplo, etc). Secondly, this is updated to replace all songs in Repentance, with custom audio mixing wherever it's needed. Finally, and perhaps best of all, this mod has Soundtrack Menu support! So it should work right alongside your other OST replacement mods as well. It's optional though, so you can use this mod standalone if you want.

Most of the music in this mod was originally composed by Alias Conrad Coldwood. Other songs, remixes or mashups included here will be given credit when appropriate. All of the music used here (aside from "Over The Rainbow") can be found right here.[gaarabis.free.fr]

5. Now, navigate to the track listed with "id=26", and replace everything (except for the "id" and "name" fields) in that code line with what you just copied from the previous code line. This replaces the main song.

6. Repeat steps 4 & 5, but instead copy from "id=83" and replace in line "id=98". This replaces the outro jingle that plays after killing a boss.

7. Save the file with those edits. The alternate boss music should now be all Pepper Steak.

8. If for some reason, these edits aren't enough to replace the music, then navigate to the "content" folder in the soundtrack mod folder and do the same thing to that music.xml file (this file is meant to be used with the Soundtrack Menu mod, so it shouldn't need to be touched, but who knows).

To High Tier Mortal:

TBH, Soundtrack Menu would be a bit easier to use and parse to change this than sifting through the somewhat unorganized code, but I'll do my best to answer this anyhow:

1. Right click on TBOI in your Steam library, and then in the "Manage" dropdown, click "Browse Local Files".

2. With the game files brought up, navigate to "mods\off ost (and other acc hits)_2988165011\resources".

3. Right click on "music.xml" and open it with Notepad (or Notepad++ if you have it, it makes reading the code easier to parse, but it's not necessary).

4. Look through for the track listing with "id=9" at the beginning, then copy everything there *except* the "id" and "name" fields in that listing.

God this gets me so good.

I fucking love some of the use of layers in this, too.

And I fucking hate the use of And Meat in Flooded Caves. It makes me so uncomfortable. Good job. Genuinely.

I re-downloaded this mod through the Steam Workshop and tested it standalone, and for me it worked just fine. It's likely a problem on your end. I recommend possibly disabling some mods you think could possibly be disrupting or conflicting with it and trying again. Otherwise, use it with the Soundtrack Menu if that makes it work somehow.

It really shouldn't be needed, Soundtrack Menu *is* supposed to be optional... this is very odd. Will try to look into it tomorrow if I have the time.
