Миномёт 2Б11 представляет собой развитие конструкции полкового миномёта образца 1943 года — ПМ-43. Основными нововведениями стало использование более современных материалов, позволившее уменьшить общую массу миномёта. Заряжание производится с дульной стороны. Миномёт выполнен по классической схеме мнимого треугольника. Казённая часть упирается в специальную опорную плиту. Плита и двунога устанавливаются в грунт. Для предотвращения двойного заряжания в некоторых модификациях на дульном срезе установлен специальный механизм[1][2].

The 2B11 mortar is a development of the design of the 1943 model regimental mortar — PM-43. The main innovations were the use of more modern materials, which made it possible to reduce the total mass of the mortar. Loading is performed from the muzzle. The mortar is made according to the classical scheme of an imaginary triangle. The breech rests against a special support plate. The plate and the bipod are installed in the ground. To prevent double loading in some modifications, a special mechanism is installed on the muzzle [1][2].
