Ares

Description
Deadly tier 3 attack submarine with a HUGE main caliber laser and 8 nuclear torpedoes
Optimized for solo campaign, but it will be fun in a multiplayer. Waypoints for NPCs are tested and should be 100% fine

Sub is 100% vanilla

- torpedoes controlled via periscope
- automatic ballast flora removal
- automatic discharge coils
- shuttle with both remote and manual control.
- support drone with containers and shelves, controlled via periscope
- turret control override system for capitan
- hybrid power grid - reactor -> batteries -> submarine
- silent mode - limits thrust and disables the reactor

- size 70m x 16m
- 32 cargo space
- 36 km/h max speed (helm 100, no upgrades)
- 19 km/h diving speed
- 2 railguns, 6 coilguns

Torpedoes

Armed with nuclear depth charges, controlled via periscope.

Click once to launch. It will move in the direction you are pointing
Click once again to detonate. Torpedo can't detonate if it's to close to the submarine, in that case lights on a torpedo will be red
Torpedo will also detonate on impact, but this feature can be disabled with a button under the periscope.
You can rebuy used torpedoes at the outpost. After that you can rearm them in the maintenance shaft


LASER

Powered by 4 pulse laser loaders. 4 boxes of fuel will be enough for 3 full cycles

If all power is spent, you can't fire again until laser capacitors are 100% charged

Turret control override system

Use this as a capitan to gain access to any turret right from command room
Remember to press reset after use, 'cause otherwise crewwon't be able to use selected gun

Automatic ballast flora removal
Press once to initiate sequence and wait 44 seconts for it to complete



Drone

Controlled via periscope.
Click and hold to undock and move. Swim close to the docking port to automaticly dock

Shuttle

Can be controlled remotely from command room, of directly from inside the shuttle.
Use the button to switch between remote and manual control modes.
Flora removal button inside the shuttle will just pump out all water and disable pumps, 'cause otherwise whole shuttle would've been on fire

Hybrid power system

Reactor powers batteries, batteries powers the submarine
Hybrid mode can be disabled, and reactor will power the submarine directly
Reactor is equipped with automatic regulating system, but the submarine is consuming a ton of energy with some big spikes, so be careful in direct power mode (or not, if you want your engineer to suffer)

If you have reactor power output upgrades or your engineer has "Buzzin'" talent, you should type command "reactor_calibrate" into the terminal. It will automaticly adjust reactor output.

Thrust reduction mode | TRM

Lowers max speed, but accelerete/decelerate thrust remains the same. Useful if you have all engine upgrades and mechanic skills.
Can be activated in the terminal. Commands: "TRM on" | "TRM off"


Silent mode
Disables the reactor and significantly limits engine thrust

Что-то с дверьми в торпедном отсеке, постоянно багается звук как будто они хотят открыться, но моментально закрываются. При нажатии кнопки maintenance mode, звук пропадает.

Wow, this looks great! Just gotta convince my mates now to try it out^^

But, I got one suggestion: You know what small detail is missing, just by looking at the screenshots? You have to add an "Ares" tag on one or both of the tailfins! :D

Flammable Specimen, thanks for the feedback. Added 'flora reset' command to the terminal, this should fix ballasts in case sequence is stuck

Something that actually caused one of my best Ares saves to be abandoned happened when we got ballast flora, I told someone to activate the removal, and while it was happening, I docked with a station to get the threshers chasing us to go away, and it caused the removal system to freak out and leave the ballast non-functional. I think if a way to reset the ballasts was made, that would be good at keeping me from being paranoid enough to go into the submarine editor and make a control switch in the command room that manually opens and closes the ballasts, even though when it happened it was an accident. Anyway, that was a lengthy comment on my part.

Syrus, you can make bots ignore shelves with depth charges (focus on a shelf -> shift + middle mouse button -> 2)
As for the capitan's safe, you either lost your original id card or you have some conflicting mods
