Eliminator ATB Ed. Ford 289 Racing Swap.

The S&P Eliminator "AKA Ford T Body" was one of my most despised cars in the car. Whoever did the config for it must have been blind because the engine appeared to come out of a go-kart for it.

The release of the Ford DLC offered up the opportunity to install the much more appropriate 289 Racing F engine and put it to the most accurate scale I could approximate. I would have preferred it to sit slightly more forward but that would have put the steering rack running through the oil pan.

Other adjustments include swapping to the more attractive Mach1 wheel since the Ford DLC is being used anyways. Increasing the rear tire width and lowering the tire profile to accommodate the for the greater width. With this change with tuning the base value of C241 up to a B398 the car grips just fine at speeds of over 180mph. So all tuning value can be placed in engine performance and power not tire performance.

The rear track was widened slightly to push the rear wheels out without using an offset wheel value and a slight increase in wheelbase to complete a better looking stance.

My personal build I the is the B398 value could easily be a even B400 by swapping ot a few sparkplugs for performance ones. An A class rating is easiy obtainable but I think the car would be mostly worthless in that class. On my first attempt with tuning the gear box the car ran the mile in almost 28 seconds flat with a top speed exceeding 180. I am sure I can shave at least a second off the with some gearing adjustments.

i think I made my goal of knocking a whole lot of ugly off this car. I guess you could say it's still just putting lipstick on a pick, but I taught the pig to dance as well.

I hope this config can create some appreciation for the car for others as well.
