Attempted to integrate this into the new Research Project system, but was unable to do this. Will make another attempt into the future.

Welcome to Super Battleship & Carrier Plus!

Update: Now including Super Battlecarrier! Which just allows you to put Super Guns on the Carriers. Don't think about it too much.

The Super-Submarine allows for armor, stronger torpedo's, and parascopes to create Admiral Donitz's dream. Tested to be incredibly effective late game, and can turn the tide if your battleships cannot stand against the enemies.

This mod is for the Hearts of Iron 4 players that have the fantasy of projecting their naval powers around the world. And what better way to do this than via an oversized (and overly expensive) Super-Battleship and/or Super-Carrier?

This does not replace any of the base game options, so you can still create a more "affordable" Super-Battleship & Carrier. However it does introduce a new Carrier-Hull to create a Super-Carrier, as well as modules specific for both creations.

In a secondary move, though this idea literally spawned the creation of this mod. This introduces a new naming archetype for Super-Battleships & Super-Carriers. This mainly pertains to Germany, but might expand this if there is enough interest.

The naming system is meant to be used as a Post/Mid-War way of honoring important names. For Germany you have the likes of Adolf Hitler, Hermann Goering, Rommel, etc. If there are any suggestions for custom names, would be happy to add them.

As these behemoths are expensive, they also require a loooong time to repair. So we've altered the Naval Refit Yards Spirit of the Navy option to allow ship repair speed to be increased by 180%.

These designs are incredibly powerful when min-maxed accordingly. This mod is not intended to be balanced, and is purely for the funnsies.

Is it possible to swap the Super Carrier model to the Special Project Carrier model?

Have created the Super Submarine after a good deal of testing. It was quite the fun time to balance it. It is currently up on the Road to 56 version of the mod. About to add it to vanilla.

Super Submarine has armor to be able to withstand some destroyers, and better torpedos/parascope/engine to make overall fighting with it as the bulk of the fleet in a last ditch effort, incredibly effective.

@Solos I currently play with the Extended Tech Tree 1960, and would also fit in with the time scale with Road to 56.

Considered this, but feel like the mod that enables use of all modules pretty much does it. And Road to 56 basically does as well with really advanced submarines near the end.

Might have a look at it just in case for funnsies. Make it a super-big thing, give it some aircraft carrying capacity (which would be crazy gameplay wise but not out of historical idea). Slap that bad boy in the 1940's slot and see how it goes. Appreciate the suggestion though!

Thinking about it. But uncertain if it's worth it. Making better engines/weapons/etc would be even more costly, and really only with it in Road to 56 where the endgame just kind of goes on and on.

Will definitely keep it in mind though!
