Classic Stock Car Racing (updated 05/23)

Description
A work in progress.
WARNING: Running this with other Vehicle, Paint, Part or Damage mods activated will cause unwanted side-effects!

TLDR; Featuring the Outlaw and Bulldog, this Mod makes for a more stock car authentic experience by making the cars rigid and changes in AI behaviour more ideal for the sport. - Recommended for only short track or oval racing. Oh, and don't expect great handling or brakes!

NOTE:
- Has not been tested on modded tracks.
- Use modded AI sets and additional parts for the intended experience!
- Use Realistic damage if you want DNFs on, Normal to switch them off.
- For the best racing experience on smaller tracks don't run a full field, as opening laps can get a bit too hectic. 15-ish is the sweet spot I think.

CHANGES;
- Deformation and mechanical damage have been removed, so the car feels rigid and durable as it should.
- New V8 engines introduced to both cars. (with soundbanks taken from Venom and Warwagon.)
- Added new options for both fenders and tyres.
- Added new skins and liveries.
- Tyres, gearing and brakes have all been tweaked to fit the theme.
- For more authenticity, 'wrecked' cars don't emmit any smoke or fire effects.
- New Ai profiles and sets. They will either race clean, brake late, slide, bump walls or try to use others as brakes!
- AI racing lines on most circuits have been tweaked for faster drivers.
- AI now run different setups regarding; diffs, springs and gear ratios.
- AI side-swiping the player or others is now very rare, so side by side racing is possible most of the time!
- Collisions have been tweaked so cars can bump, push and bounce off one another due to their rigid frames, rather than absorb hits.
- Disabled handbrake.
- Changed AI name listing.

and many more!

Hope you enjoy

Runs okay for me, Vince. I'd suggest not running other mods along side it though, but tracks should be fine.

bug?

You'll need to have Photoshop or Clip Studio Paint if you wanna view them.

If it ain't working though, I suggest watching this. It's a couple more steps, but this is how you originally find the skins:

Also open the folders in Explorer, .psd files don't show up on BagEdit.

Hi Jack, I've just updated the mod with the templates I used.

Open up BagEdit: look for Steam Workshop Content, open folder numbered 2968992413 and then you'll find the templates in data/vehicle/"vehicle_name"/art - the .psd files are the ones you're after specifically. Hope this helped.

To my earlier comment--the issue appears to only happen when damage is set to 'normal'. In 'realistic', there is no visible damage to the cars at all, which is fine by me. I will continue to use realistic damage to avoid the issue. Thanks for this mod, it is one of my favorites!

Seems to have an issue with textures/paint--when cars are damaged, it shows a different livery 'underneath' the area that was hit--or in the case of the '52' with an X on it livery, it is hot pink/purple underneath the 'damaged area'. Any chance you could release a version of this mod with AIs using only solid color paint jobs/no liveries? Thanks!

For those wondering why the file is so big now, it's because I've added new skins and tire options, which are both on the heavy side. Not much I can do about this.
