Description
Welcome to Gambia! In recent years this small West African country has experienced a literal gold rush and the city of Serrekunda is booming because of it. So far most investment has gone into private sector real estate while public infrastructure and services have been long overlooked. With the opening of the new Gambia Estuary Bridge it became painfully obvious that the current transport system isn't suited for the city's hustle and bustle. You have been tasked with improving the traffic situation and growing the city before this narrow window of opportunity passes.

The city believes in you. Don't let them down.. or do so and try again until you get it right.

WIN CONDITIONS
  • Population over 50,000
  • Traffic flow over 85%
  • Repay all loans

LOSE CONDITIONS
  • Population under 25,000
  • Play 250 game weeks
  • Have less than -50,000 money

DLCS & MODS

Africa in Miniature Content Creator Pack assets are used in this scenario which is why it is listed as required. No other DLCs, content creator packs, mods, or assets are needed tho. You can try to play the scenario without the pack but I can't guarantee that it will work or that it will be fun. Also make sure to enable the "Vanilla" style in the content manager before playing this scenario. If you don't do this most high density buildings and some service buildings won't load in.


NOTES

This is my first ever scenario for Cities: Skylines. I think it's an underrated gamemode and that most players are put off by the default scenarioes that come with the game. These are very basic and quite bad in general which is a shame. With this upload my goal is to perhaps revive the scenario genre a little bit and show what can be done if you put a bit of effort into it. I should also say that I wanted to try and make a challenge to restore the mangrove wetlands but couldn't figure out a good way how with triggers in the scenario editor. Consider it an extra challenge if you made it this far into this description text. The city in this scenario is entirely fictional and any reuse of placenames like Serrekunda, Banjul, and even Gambia itself should be seen as such also.

WHAT MAP?

If you only want to build on the map, it's called Gambia Estuary and you can find it right here. It's a slightly refined version of the map in this scenario without any DLC requirements.

SAVEGAME

Here is the savegame version of the scenario that lets you sandbox it and use mods. For some reason it starts with 8 million in the bank. Have fun you filthy little cheaters ;)

Its totally fair with the historical buildings. Both for aesthetic reasons and not have us city developers take down ‘peoples’ homes without much thought.

yes creatorofworlds each building is set to historial almost its an amazing scenario but that is frustrating what i did to get around that was i would dezone massive areas and either but low density back or make it a higher density.

Damit, i wanted to start a metro, but was told "space already....". Then i thought, okay metro have could be turned off in the scenario. Then after having build a ferry boat "empire" i realised that the reason for not being able to place metro is that the buildings are set as historical :-)
Not that i hadden't seen that before, i just didn't put 2 and 2 together.

not sure, i dont remember but i think i might have turned some passenger stations of for intercity trains. dont think i can do that for cargo tho

Minor comment (might be intended behaviour, but i think not)
When i loaded the scenario, after a while i noticed that one of the cargo train stations were not getting any in/out going traffic. I need to turn off/on the station and then it worked fine
