Best way to fix the problems of the buff falling off for 1 tick is to instead do something akin to Smokeleaf, where it uses HediffCompProperties_SeverityPerDay, with the <severityPerDay> being set to -24.0 rather than -1 (The original buff lasts for 1.44 in-game hours at 3600 ticks, but with this change it can last indefinitely until they leave the radius of the bungus).
I'd upload my own "Continued" version, but I have no idea how tf to do such atm.
