KH-Y Kahawai

The Kahawai scout class was designed primarily as an exploration and diving expedition vessel, equipped with a dive support drone to scout caverns ahead of dive teams, extend dive time, and assist with hauling salvage.

R&D teams suffered some setbacks with time constraints in the final stages of development, which resulted in an efficient but somewhat leaky and unstable reactor.

HAZMAT Handling Certification required for all personnel employed in reactor operation zones - radiation hazard present. HAZMAT PPE to be worn at all times near the reactor.

Features

- Reactor leaks radiation, wear HAZMAT protection. There is a container above the dive suit locker in the decontamination room with HAZMAT gear and antiradiation meds.

- Reactor has a coolant pump that must be maintained, if the condition of the coolant pump condition drops below 25% the reactor fission rate will max out, overload systems, and put the reactor in meltdown until the pump is repaired and coolant flow is restored.

- Reactor auto-control and overload protection, and meltdown protection systems, with switches to turn them off if desired. The meltdown protection system will shut off the reactor before it explodes if a meltdown state is detected.
Reactor runs best with two or more fuel rods at a time. Auto-control system will moderate the reactor output to run at a cooler temperature than the standard built-in auto-control.

- Low power lighting mode, and a toggle for power mode which switches off fabricators, deconstructor, dive suit lockers, O2 refillers, and main lighting to save power.

- Light switch for external lighting.

- Lever switch to toggle on/off the power connection to the main docking port.

- Weapons safety toggle switch, located on the Nav terminal.

- Smart discharge coils that will only fire if sufficient charge is available. There are buttons to fire each coil individually, or all can be fired at once from the Nav terminal interface. Firing all at once increases recharge time, as it uses more power.

- Ballast shutoff and purge switch, for dealing with ballast flora infections.

- Flood warning alarm, good flood control. Motion sensing doors will shut off motion sensor control if flooding is detected.

- Reinforced glass dome for excellent exterior visibility, supported by an external camera array that allows for an almost all-round view of the vessel, with only a small blind spot at the aft near the tail.

- Secure Medbay containers; locked to medic, security, and captain access only.

- Secure Armoury lockers, locked to security and captain access only.

- A captains personal locker in the command room.

I know this sub is a bit old and I'm not sure you're still around, but on the tier 3 sub the large dorsal gun isn't linked to the loader. It's like a 3 second fix, but still kind of annoying

thanks! works great now! that was really the only gripe I had about such an amazing ship. (other than the reactor controller trying to murder you if you have dangerous reactors. but i think that was me fucking up the settings)

rear bilge pump is unreachable, resulting in AI hyper fixating on fixing it but being unable to and the flood alarm going off permanently
