Glitter Weaponry

Description

This mod expands upon the mysterious lore of the rich and utopian Glitterworlds, adding a set of new deadly laser weapons which cause a new unique hediff and that can only be bought or discovered through quests and rewards.
These weapons are stronger than your average charge weapon, making them extremely effective as endgame weapons.

This mod depends on the Athena Framework for some of its features.

Mod is currently in version: 1.4

Additional suggested mods:
VWE - Heavy Weapons Required for the Laser Destructor

Q: Is this mod CE compatible?
A: It should be! I heard the CE team patched the mod recently.

Q: I encountered an error!
A: Send me the logs so I can identify the issue.

Q: Why does this mod require Athena Framework?
A: The Laser Scatterer and the Laser Destructor both use Athena's "Angle Based Shotgun" code, plus, it's also required for the burns the projectiles leave on the ground.

Q: Can I suggest additions or new features?
A: Absolutely, but keep in mind the theme of the mod.

Hi DetVisor,
as eager as I am for the 1.6 update, this post isn't about that. (Seriously, though - when? ;p )

No, it's about the 'Athena Framework' that this mod depends on.
I looked through my mod list, and if I haven't overlooked anything, 'Glitter Weaponry' is the last one that requires that framework.
Other mods that originally did (e.g. the awesome 'Ion Weaponry (Continued)') have managed to integrate Athena's code into the mod itself.

As I try to keep my mod list as small as possible (unsuccessfully), it would be great if you could also try to eliminate this framework's dependency.
What do you think the chances are of this happening?

Thank you for your great mods!
Deggial

(P.S. I hope, the exams went well!?)

Is there a public priority list of what you update and create @DetVisor? I would love to know if this specific mod is planned to be updated or replaced.
Anyway, I'm glad your schedule allows you back at modding, I love your work.

My once a year comment on a DetVisor mod: (Nothing to do with 1.6 obviously). Love your mods, cant wait to see them rolling out and good luck with the exams!

Of course I'm still active, just been busy with exams. I plan to update everything to 1.6 later on.

Even if there are no comments since Dec. 2024, there is still interest in this mod.

DetVisor, are you still active in the modding scene?
Do you plan to update it to 1.6?

Just so people know, Athena Framework is currently bugged. For me and many others It causes Rimworld to crash when trying to load new and/or existing saves!

they don't do much damage against mechs because of vanilla armour vs penetration calculation. Weapons are heat damage, mechs have 200% heat resist. Armour gets melted by 80%, now it gets down to 120%. Now the kick in the nuts, laser carbine has at legendary level about 40% penetration as in 80% of damage against mech 120% gets either deflected or mitigated. Militors are becoming real tanks because of this
