Description
An test version of the Joelson Haute "The Necromancer" mod, please come help test it out some!

This is my first try at a Don't Starve mod, and I hope you enjoy it!

His stats and traits are as follows:

Health: 185
Sanity: 160
Hunger: 160

Necromancy: Joelson has the ability to invest into the dark arts(& crafts!), allowing him to:
Forge 2 magical swords
Write a book, that lets him raise the dead
Create wine, that gets better as it ages
Craft bear traps, that hold creatures still
As well as craft meat grafts of all kinds, to patch up friends and yourself!

Forever Cursed: Joelson is cursed with undeath, rotting his mind and body, as well as making him more vulnerable to heat!
He will overheat very quickly(But can ignore the cold), and his sanity is constantly draining, losing 71 Sanity per day!
His curse makes him be seen as a monster, being attacked by friendly creatures like Pigmen and Bunnymen on sight.

Grim Enjoyer: Joelson takes pride in what he does well. That being mainly killing and edgy stuff that follows with his line of work.

Killing creatures will restore both sanity and health based on the size of the creature.(Small creatures give less, big creatures give more) However, picking flowers harms his sanity, while picking evil flowers and robbing graves restores it!
(The Joelson mod makes a slight edit to the grave robbing loot table)

This page will be updated with more tips and more information in detail at a later date, as right now I want to get this mod out for everyone to test and break.

Really loving the mod, it would be cool to see necromancy as an alternative for any character to explore as well. Raising random skeletons found in the world, crafting ritual tools, dark magic items, using items at the cost of sanity or health, etc.

Oh of course! You can always tell a passion project is in the works.

As for suggestions, this might take a lot of work, but I think would be AWESOME.

1. Like a summon-able version of all the creatures in the game. It could take more time to roll out, but you can summon an undead beefalo to ride around, an undead Pigman or Merm to body guard you, and more complicated creatures need more complicated requirements to make. Perhaps one or several upgrades to the basic nercomancer book.

Part 1:

2. Since he is a necromancer, he is able to revive his dead teammates. This doesn't have to be a permanent revivial, they can just be losing HP till they die again. A way to die in a better place to get your items back.

3. Since you are going for a whole undeath appeal where he is rotting away, it would be incredible if you included grafting on himself. Say after a week in game (configurable), his limbs start rotting away and what would normally take 12 swings of an axe to fell a tree, would then take 15 or 20. At that point, he is able to graft creatures bodies onto his own.
For example, the Arms of a merm to hit harder, the legs of a frog to be able to leap over obstacles, the wings of several birds to temporarily fly, the armoured body of a bishop.

Part 2:

4. Since he is able to commune with the dead and beyond, perhaps he is able to help the pipsqueaks in their sad graves.

5. The main appeal of a necromancer is the constant renewal of your army. You can't ever win a war of attrition against them because once you die, they'll just revive your body and make you fight on their side.
So having the dead bodies lay around after you kill a creature, and if you're quick enough, you can raise them from the dead. This could include bosses as well. Kinda like Maxwell's book, you can summon them at will to fight. If you've read the Manhwa "Solo Leveling" you know what I'm going for.

Part 3:

6. He could be an excellent gardner. Like wormwood, just his presence around plants makes them happy. His rotting body provides nutrients for the plants to grow better.

7. All necromancers are out to get more power, so perhaps a quest would be the best. His powers come from objects, and those objects are scattered around the map during world gen, both above and below ground. These objects can be guarded but their own versions of mini-bosses.

Just a few ideas I had! Again, love the mod, looking forward to more!

Good to hear someones looking forward to it, I'm gonna focus on touching up some of the sprites and tuning the weapons a bit. If you have any suggestions for anything I'm all ears.
