Subclass: Fallen Champion

Description

We are the bulwark, the shield protecting the people from the storm. Yes, many fell during invasion of Roverford, and those responsible for it should be punished. In due time. But now we must act and summon our forces to chase after Eldanoth, and to annihilate him once and for all. Let whole world knows what fate befalls enemies of my kingdom.
- Queen Zefya the First

In around 1233 EC, the troubled lands of Folkswave were thrown into turmoil once again,
as a sinister threat emerged in the form of a Necromancer named Eldanoth the Reborn.
He had a vast knowledge of necromancy, and his power was feared by many.

Eldanoth had always been fascinated by death and the afterlife, and he spent his life searching for ways to cheat death and gain immortality.
Trusting in his magical prowness and growing hordes of undead minions, Eldanoth decided to invade the city of Roverford, capital of the Kingdom of Folkswave.
He believed that conquering the city would allow him to gain access to powerful artifacts and ancient knowledge locked in its vaults and libraries.

During his dread march, many strongholds, towns and villages were sweept by - their garrison doomed in fighting against undead hordes of unmatched size and feriocity.
An order of mobilization was called by Queen, but intimidated nobles started to act up sensing that the position of queen's absolute rule was endangered by the raise of new thread.

A bickering between two factions went almost until the day the Eldanoth army arrived at the capital.
Hurredly scrambled ranks of soldiers rushed to enstablish a defensive line while problems at every step marked the first day of battle.

But Eldanoth overmeasured his own strength, or maybe he just did not know that Queen Zefya and many of her retainers were also no strangers to art of necromancy.
Slowly Folkswave Kingdom army started to gain an adventage, and when more and more reinforcements poured toward the capital, Eldanoth decided to withdraw in a hurry.

Battle ended shortly after, and victory was celebrated both by nobles and common folks.
Queen Zefya pushed for pursuit army to be formed to chase after necromancer, but nobles, reculant to lose even more soldiers at whims of their Queen, opposed the idea.

Running out of patience, the queen ordered you to marshall these nobles and commanders loyal to her cause, and chase after necromancer.
And this is the beginning of your story...

Mod Content

A new subclass for Knight - Fallen Champion - an undead knight, master of Spirit Hosts. Well versed both in Combat and in art of Esotericism. It have two secondary perk trees that are mutually exclusive, one replacement perk tree for the base knight class and his own specific perks.

29(+2) new cards for Fallen Champion exclusive use

A new starting kit exclusive for Fallen Champion

A new introductiory event in starting location

A 2 new PC avatars for Fallen Champion - one for both male and female gender

5 new allies with custom graphics

Afterwords:

The class was made with Sandbox in mind, playing in Gauntlet will make you unable to choose a secondary perk tree - which is done by getting a card reward from introductory event. But you can use console commands to create the cards if needed.

Picking Fallen Knight Starting Kit is recommended as it works like a origin. If by any chance you want to pick other starting kit, you will need to travel to Haunted Watchtower to continue the story.

All new cards can be viewed in the Player's Handbook by typing Fallen Champion into search.

New cards and allies doesn't show up during other class playthrough, as to not pollute their card decks.

Only first Event from the seven planned is delivered right now, because this is also my entry for Modding Contest. Rest of the events will be delivered in further updates to this mod.

I tried to see if it's possible, and unfortunately - while I can add Fallen Champion+ starting kit and it will have access to new cards and base (knight) class perks, the limitations of the modding framework make it missing new class perks. I spoke with Raven and it doesn't seem to be a way to add class perks to starting kit.

You can still multiclass with Fallen Champion, but you're limited to picking it as main class pick.
You will also need to travel to Haunted Watchtower (near Roverford) to pick up the event chain.

Is there any chance it could work with the expert or multiclass options

I just updated the mod with a small patch, that renames Spectral Standard-Bearer card to Spectral Standard Bearer. The game actually uses "-" character for some save/load operation, so after the load the bearer part in already summoned ally got truncated.

For people who had a game in-progress and lost access to previous cards, you can press F10 and type AddCard Spectral Standard Bearer in console to get back the lost cards (and repeat that x3). Sorry for inconvicence guys.

Also reported to Raven that spirit regen from perks doesn't work, and he confirmed that it will be fixed in one of the future game patches.

Doing fantastic work top to bottom, really impressive thoroughness and the fact that you're working to incorporate into the lore and such as well is a cherry on top. Kudos!
