Description
I really like playing using the Wandering Medics mod by SpaceDog (see https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2569338685 for original).
But I don't really love how strong Menders are. The last straw for me was being visited in Ark, where my gang of newbies was enslaved to the Reavers... and three or four of these chads proceeded to wipe out everyone but Valamon without any help at all... then got up and left. I also didn't like that they had incredibly powerful, plot-armoured gear, that you could just take after you finished training your assassination on them (because they didn't care if you did that).

I figured I would whip this together and link the original, because I would prefer dead/unconscious Menders to ones that could fight Cat-Lon for me. Plus the temptation of being able to steal a bajillion dollars of mender gear was just too much for my feeble willpower.

Like SpaceDog I highly recommend you customise his mod to your own liking in the Forgotten Construction Kit. However, hopefully this can see some use among players who prefer a harsher playstyle, but think that this faction just makes sense and fits in well.

Notable Changes:
- Reduces Mender stats by roughly 10%-25%: They're still quite powerful and tend to travel in groups, meaning they can easily overpower most basic threats, but they're capable of being taken down in dangerous areas.. You've been warned.

- Reducers Mender vendor inventory by >50%: Previously, Menders had enough stock to easily outfit your entire settlement with beds, sleeping bags, medicine, and backpacks. This will no longer be the case. Lone traders will often have very to spare at all.

- Removes Mender's custom armour (Clothpants, Plate Jacket, etc).: This custom gear had all stat penalties removed and full weather resistance. If you got ahold of them, you could do unspeakable things

- Removed Mender's Backpack item stacking: they are now more similar to a regular Small Backpack, but sometimes come with lanterns and can be bought from a wandering trader, and still have no stat penalties. This in itself makes them an easy choice... so being able to stack 5x trade goods was a little too much.

- Minorly tweaked relationship stats: I don't know if this WILL do anything, but it's possible that Menders will be somewhat less forgiving if you treat them like training dummies- they like to help people, yeah, but nobody loves an elbow to the back of the head... seven times.

- Slightly reduced quality of Mender's Glow Lamp, and increased inventory size: the glow lamps are neat, but I think it's important that- just like the backpacks- if they are more accessible and plentiful than regular traveling gas lanterns, they need to be balanced accordingly. They glow dimmer and take up slightly more size in your inventory.

"The Menders stats are the same as Unarmed Anti-Slavers in the vanilla game, this means that they are able to defend themselves in some very hostile areas but at the same time they are lore friendly.

When I lowered their stats I got lots of reports of them being dead or unconscious and unable to heal anyone - which is the point of the mod. Because of this I have no intention of changing their stats." -SpaceDog, whose permission to edit his mod I may have interpreted too liberally. Thank you for the awesome content, SpaceDog!!

I don't know if it's a bug, but the menders often move in circles and don't travel as in the original. They are also less likely to help. On one occasion I had just fought against dust bandits, the mender passed by, they started circling around and didn't heal anyone, neither me nor the bandits.

I've always felt that the original mod was a bit... extra. This is a great alternative, thumbs up!

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much!

Or if they were hostile to bandits in the first place.

Does this mod also change the menders relations to other factions as well as the player? I'd prefer it if the menders relations with different factions could degrade over time if they get wronged.

@Abela happening for me now too? It wasn't that way before... It's very strange, I'll see if I can procure a new link to the original mod

What is going on with that link, Steam is blocking it for me saying it is potentially malicious, the hell? Never had that one happen before.

@Daevinski absolutely my fault-- I'll see about fixing this ASAP.

Mender Lantern's Icon is missing. It's just a white box with an X. Do you know if it's something that needs to me fixed in your mod or maybe a possible incompatibility? In case of incompatibility, any idea which type of mod can cause that?
