Introduction & Contents
Greetings, this is an updated version of the old Sci-Fire-Power turret collection I uploaded way back when 1.2 was around. Some old content was either removed or reworked to have a slightly more vanilla-friendly look and performance. For now the turrets people liked the most are back and functioning.
  • Sentry Auto-Turret - An improved version of the mini-turret that can actually be more than just a distraction.
  • Legionnary Turret - A tanky sentry turret that reliably delivers rapid-fire shells.
  • Predator Turret - The old jack of all trades is back. This turret can withstand punishment and deal some right back.
  • Goliath Turret - The tanky Minigun is back with a new look and stats that are less OP. Can be built under roofs.

Installation & Compatibility
  • To install, simply subscribe to the mod.
  • This mod is save game compatible, and will likely be compatible with all future versions of Rimworld unless changes are introduced to turrets.
  • This mod does not need to be loaded high up in your loading order. Feel free to load this mod at the bottom of your mod loading order.

Oh, wow. I finally came back to update my mods and stuff for 1.6.

The tips you gave me worked. Thanks a lot with that. I see the changes you made. Sounds awesome.

I don't know if you're still updating mods. If you are or not, I salute you. Thanks for keeping my nostalgia alive and best of luck with your endeavors.

Updated the mod. Predator Turret now fires three bursts instead of two, and is significantly more accurate so there is more bang for the buck. Goliath Turret also has improved accuracy so more shots end up landing where they should.

I hope you figured out how the xml worked. It's surprisingly simple and easy to learn. Tweak it to your liking and enjoy.

There is no guide on this I'm afraid, I learned this just by opening xml files too. Make a copy of this mod's files in the steamapps workshop files. Then open all the xml files with notepad + and experiment with it. You'll eventually get a grasp of it.

The original mod had much more OP turrets, I just reduced their power a slight bit. If I come back to modding Rimworld again I'll consider buffing these guys more. However you can easily edit the tables yourself in a minute.

So, I don't want this to come across as quarrelsome or anything disrespectful. I love how this mod looks, sounds and feels. I would like to suggest, however, that people who are going for these turrets probably aren't that worried about the "vanilla" feel.

The towers are quite pricey and take up a fair amount of space. For what it takes to build them and the real estate they occupy, I would expect them to be more lethal. The predator autocannon fires really slow despite its high accuracy and excellent damage. The gatling turret isn't accurate at range and ends up not feeling worth it. The Legion turret feels about perfect, though.

On top of that, I just would really like some high quality late game towers that I can build and trust it'll mow down stuff reliably. There are a lot of "vanilla" turrets balanced to be just as awful as the ones that come with the game. I want something that is as badass as it looks. And your turrets look *really* badass.

No matter if you listen to me or not, thank you for the modding. Keep it up and have a good one.
