Description
Founded in 1924, Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. is an American film production studio that is a member of the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group. The first lady to appear in the studio's advertising set an iconic pose for many variants of the Columbian logo to come. Throughout the years, 5 different versions were used and in 1989, Sony bought the company.
Two years later, Michael J. Deas was commisioned to create an oil painting of the iconic goddess. As of today, this version of the logo is still being used and is one of the longest-lasting symbols in Hollywood history.
