Description
Mercury

Info
Transport (Tier 2) Cost: 20,000Mk Recommended crew size: 4-7 Cargo capacity: 44 crates 4 Hardpoints (2 light, 2 Heavy) 2 Discharge coils

The Mercury is a medium transport ship. Designed as a sort of "blockade runner" , The Mercury excels at transporting goods to settlements that are experiencing high levels of hostile activity. Despite having less cargo space than other ships of its class, the Mercury makes up for this by having good firepower; to create gaps in hostile swarms, and a strong engine to exploit those gaps and escape from danger. Captains will need to be mindful of the weapon placement; focused mainly at the front of the vessel. The rear has many blind spots and is vulnerable, but good positioning can alleviate this issue. The engine is quite powerful, allowing for good mobility at the expense of extra strain on the reactor, and increased fuel consumption.

The Mercury is the fifth ship by Dyfed Shipyards. Any feedback is appreciated!

This is your only good, vanilla-like sub. Cut the overdecoration out and you might become the first person who I get subs from other than myself.

@Mowos I've not encountered this issue with the flak cannon frying the power grid so far. I'm not sure how to fix it, but I'll see if I can replicate this issue and fix it.

Firing the flak cannon seems to fry the electrical grid if its supercapacitor is set to 50%. Any idea why and how to fix?

This is one of my favourite subs I've seen yet.
- Interesting shape and design
- Interesting gun angles w/ EDC
- Vanilla feel i.e. not too messy, easy to customize
I'm in love with this boat, but not in the weird way

the ships oxygen gen isnt connected to the suit racks so they dont really refill like normal

@myka Thank you so much! I will definitely give this sub another pass with your feedback in mind. I wasn't aware of the bots having problems fixing leaks in the command area, i'll fix this asap. You're right, it might have too much firepower and speed. I was hoping the awkward placement of the weapons and the engine' power draw would balance these aspects out a bit, but if you say they're a bit too strong, i'll look into adjusting them a bit. Let me know if you notice anything else :)

Forgot to say.
Absolute advantage: chair in the command centre.
Absolute drawback: fabricator isnt linked to the locker. And that's on a transport submarine, funny.

Drawbacks:
1. Engine placed right at the bottom center isnt a good idea. Enemies from below tend to attack engine room first, therefore it gets flooded pretty quickly along with the sub.
2. Bots for some reason dont understand how to fix window leaks in the command centre. They just stay at the door saying they cant get to the leak.
3. Big fragile windows in the command centre. I like observing the underwater, but not when a raptor can break into my room with a single strike. Look how window protection in the command centre done on the R-29, for example.
I really like the design of your subs, both ext. and internal. I just wish they were more balanced. Gonna be waiting for your T3 transport sub C:

I ran this submarine for a little in my campaign. It is totally overpowered compared to vanilla T2 subs.
1. Two small and two heavy turrets are definitely too much for a T2 transport sub. In T2 only Typhon can afford this, but he is slow and doesnt have space for cargo.
2. Considering this ship has a firepower of an attack sub, three discharge coils are too much.
3. I got the horizontal speed with some sub and crew upgrades at around 28 km/h. That's the speed of a small scout sub.
