Increase Virtual Memory
This tip is especially good when you do not have that much Physical Memory to begin with!
If you are with less than 24 GB RAM you should not miss out on this. Normally the virtual memory is managed by Windows proper and that suffices - increasing the virtual memory manually makes your PC handle surges in need better!

First you call upon the Windows Settings and there select the System category

In the section About we go for Advanced system settings on the right

In the subsection Performance Options we go for the Advanced tab and select change for the Virtual Memory

As you can see in this example, it is pretty low. I recommend a size of at least 8 GB

Once everything is set, restart your PC and enjoy the extra boost for your apps!
Run GPU at Maximum Performance
This tip is even recommended officially by Capcom ~

Originally posted by Capcom Customer Service:
If using a dual Nvidia / Intel GPU, follow these steps:
  1. Open Nvidia Control Panel
  2. Click 'Manage 3D Settings'
  3. Go to 'Program Settings' and then select the game (if it is not in the list you can add it manually by clicking 'Add')
  4. Scroll down to 'Power Management Mode'
  5. Set it to 'Prefer Maximum Performance' / ‘High Performance Processor’ instead of 'Adaptive'
  6. Close Nvidia Control Panel and launch the game

If using a dual AMD “Switchable Graphics” GPU, follow these steps:
  1. Open AMD Catalyst Control Center
  2. Under “Switchable Graphics”, select the High Performance section and select the game (if it is not in the list you can add it manually by clicking 'Browse')
  3. Click ‘Apply’
  4. Close AMD Catalyst Control Center and launch the game

Additionally, double-check your desktop / laptop’s power settings by performing the following:
  1. If using a laptop, ensure the charger is connected
  2. Open Control Panel
  3. Select Power Options
  4. Select “Change Plan Settings”
  5. Select “Change advanced power settings”
  6. From within the dropdown menu, select “High performance” and click ‘Apply’ then ‘OK’
  7. Launch the game

This is where you can find it for Nvidia graphics cards

Increase Shader Cache
Whenever the game has to create shaders often or takes especially long doing so, try increasing the shader cache whiuch is used by your graphics card. This is something which can be considered a niche tip, as Monster Hunter Rise shaders-files are not that big that they should cause any troubles.

However, low-end PCs which just barely meet the minimum requirements might benefit from changing the shader cache used by their graphics cards, as a bigger cache would allow the pre-compiled shaders to remain there for longer, instead of having them overwritten whenever you start a different application which might use the same cache as Monster Hunter Rise.

It can help, but the major issue would lie mostly in the storage device which is used by the game and your graphics card. If the cache is located on a slow storage drive, it might be the very reason why the issues exist to begin with. In such case adjust the settings accordingly so the cache runs from the fastest storage drive available to you.

After increasing the Shader Cache make sure to reset your shaders to benefit from the change!

Change DNS
Stuttering, freezes, connection issues.
And that all despite everything on your side seems to be in order.

  • You have a good download and upload rate.
  • You have a stable wireless connection at highest standards or use a cable to connect your PC with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) device or router.
  • You have a good PC which is not lacking any resources to run internet services at all.
  • You are running out of ideas what else you could possibly do but moving to a different place as it might be a regional ISP hardware thing.

Changing the DNS (Domain Name System) servers, those which are responsible to assign your connections to the worldwide servers, from the default ISP one to a different service might just do the trick.

It is a tip which is highly regarded among console players world-wide and recommended by all famous games magazines. Considering that, it would be worth to use the same tip for your PC as well, right? Check this guide for details

Disable the Game's Autosave
Since Monster Hunter Rise has been designed for mobile entertainment, the Autosave function triggers by default after almost every interaction within the hub (Kamura Village/Elgado Outpost). While that makes sense when playing mobile on the Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck - where it is essential that you can put the console any time into sleep mode - the function can feel unnecessary and like a burden when playing on PC.

Deactivate the Autosave function via the options without worry!
You will still be asked regularly - after every hunt and whenever you decide to quit the game.
That suffices fully!

Beware also of overlay apps like some popular voice chat apps e.g. Turning off things like Steam overlay / using normal instead of Steam Client Beta can help improving the performance.

And last but not least: remember - the more apps you have running, the less resources are available for the game. In doubt: close your browser and any other unused apps while playing.

Happy Hunting!
