Vorontsovskaya is a Moscow Metro station on the southern section of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya Line. Connected by a transfer with the Kaluzhskaya station on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line. It is located in the Obruchevsky district (YUZAO). It got its name from the park and the Vorontsovo estate, located near the station. The opening took place on December 7, 2021 as part of the Mnevniki — Kakhovskaya section. A three-span shallow-laid column with one island platform.


The first project name "Kaluzhskaya" was given after the transfer station of the same name on the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya line. By the decree of the Government of Moscow dated July 29, 2015, the name of the station was changed to "Vorontsovskaya" — after the name of the Vorontsovo estate.

Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences twice sent a letter to the mayor of Moscow with a request to rename the station in honor of the Soviet mathematician Mstislav Keldysh, after whom the nearby square is named. In a letter sent in early 2016, the name "Academician Keldysh Square" was proposed, but it was rejected by the city commission due to the length and inconvenience of pronunciation. The second letter, sent in mid-2017, suggested the name "Keldysh Square".

In August 2018, a vote was organized on the Active Citizen portal to choose a name for the station. There were three options to choose from: "Academician Keldysh Square", "Kaluga" and "Vorontsovskaya". According to the results of the vote, the majority of Muscovites (58.62%) decided to keep the name "Vorontsovskaya" for the station. (wikipedia[ru.wikipedia.org])
