diplomatic victory is really rubbing it in their faces, too, considering it really is just "who makes the most gold" -> "can ally the most city states" -> "wins game"

i suppose you'll get the other end of the stick now? be brazil in a pangaea game with only domination victory enabled, with enemies like Atilla, Shaka, Carthage :3

my suggestion was meant to be a 1v1 vs venice with literally everything stacked in your favor. so doing this with other civs is, uh, impessive. if you get to a ridiculous level of happiness, make some food caravans to grow your cities so they get more citizens so more tiles are worked & more science generated. also try to settle them near mountains, observatories give +50% science generation which is amazing...ly useful in the late game plus an extra tile an enemy can't attack from.
