Dwarf Fortress Military Guide and Ranger Guide
By Sniper(+)
This guide is in two sections, Section one is for Military, section two is for ranger and multiple branches.
This guide is made by u/BlueKnightBrownHorse

This is the last guide . All his hard work is now on steam. All the credit goes to this person. Now I shall post the last of their pages here.
These guides apply for the ASCII dwarf fortress. Thing have changed, for the better, yet the fundamentals are the same. Use what you can use, learn and improvise. Thank you for coming by and even if these guides help you one tiny bit, makes me happy, just passing it on forward from the bay12wiki to reddit to steam, good luck.

These were posted by u/blueknightbrownhorse or something. I took his work and reposted these in his memory. Inspired by him I do handwritten guides. I till date work on them and post them on reddit and steam as well. It was truly quite legendary at the time what the doctor made and posted purely from imagination. All the credit goes to him as mentioned in the guide. Check my latest works, you'd love them Sir. Thank you for the kind words. GL HF.

I think for history's sake it's important to note that this guide was written by hand over 5 years ago, when whatever following this game had was cult at best. The vast majority of players would give up and move on, unable to cope with 100% ASCII text-based menus and world. They had tiny icons to use as dwarves and I think it gives the drawings and attention to detail that much more depth and passion, since he's creating these images entirely from imagination as opposed to copying something from the game. Super cute stuff lol :craftsdwarf::urist:

I love all the pre-Steam Edition hotkeys to find specific menus. I really miss using all those hotkey combinations and memorizing the pathways to obscure text-based mechanics lol

Digging the hand written notes. Thanks for the tips!

Yes, as I mentioned it is a repost of something a person made long back and was forgotten, I reposted it and began making this type of guides to keep up his legacy for community, such as my heavy aquifer guide, that's my thing. I am thankful that you all like it. I shall re-make this guide entirely in simpler font with right images when my exams are over by 29th Dec 2022

I might even go so far as to say the pictures are good!

The pictures are fine. The text is a little hard to read, but it's colorful!

Thanks for effort but it's kinda hard to process those pictures (not impossible but still).
Would be great to see the actual written text here.
Cheers! :lunar2019piginablanket:
