Beskrivelse

An agricultural expansion adding new grain crops, alcoholic drinks, and a pre-industrial method of food preservation - pickling. Now no longer requires VCE - only VEF.

Changes in 1.4:
  • Major update with more items added.
  • Removed references to cholesterol and high blood pressure, as this is no longer in VCE as of 1.4
  • Removed references to pickled food causing toxic buildup, as I can't find any evidence this is the case
  • This mod now no longer requires Vanilla Cooking Expanded. Pickled food can be made at the stove instead.
  • Several more mods now supported.

New Grains:
Grain Stats Spreadsheet[docs.google.com]

  • Sorghum has an average yield and growth time compared to the other grains, and needs decent soil to grow.
  • Millet grows very quickly, but has a middling yield compared to other grains.
  • Rye can be grown in poor soil, but produces the lowest yield of the grains.
  • Barley grows quickly and has higher yield, but is a bit finicky.
  • Amaranth grows very quickly, has low yield, and is very sensitive to soil conditions.
  • Jerusalem artichoke can grow in essentially anything, but has low yield.
  • Triticale is an artificial wonder grain with the hardiness of rye and the output of wheat. However, it doesn't occur naturally and needs to be researched.

New Alcohol:

  • Mash can be made from grain at the Brewery and placed in the appropriate fermenter to age into an alcoholic drink.
  • Baijiu is a strong liquor that increases rest rate when drunk. The longer it ages, the higher the quality of the resulting drink. It can be produced from mashed sorghum placed into a baijiu pot to ferment.
  • Raksi is a cheap, clear alcohol that that warms the drinker, increasing their resistance to cold temperatures. It can be produced from mashed millet placed into a raksi still to ferment.
  • Kvass is a nearly non-alcoholic beverage that slightly increases social impact. It can be produced from rye processed into unfermented kvass and left to rot at a warm temperature.
  • Lager is a refined drink of high quality, but must be fermented under cold conditions. It is produced from wort in a brewing vat.
  • Refine grains into ethanol, which can be used as a fuel, or refine ethanol further into ether, which can replace neutroamine in medicine recipes.

Vinegar and Pickling:

  • Vinegar is a new condiment that can be produced from alcohols via fermentation. It can slightly suppress appetite, but can cause toothaches.
  • Vinegar can be combined with food at the stove (without VCE) or Condiment Prep Table (with VCE) to create pickles. Pickled food has a greatly increased shelf life, but tastes less fresh than regular food. It can be further used as an ingredient for meals.

Other features:
With Medieval Overhaul, or other mods that add flax:
  • Flaxseed is produced as an additional yield when harvesting flax. In MO, this can be used as an alternative ingredient for flour.

    With Vanilla Cooking Expanded:
    • Wheat from Vanilla Cooking Expanded now drops raw wheat instead of flour.
    • Adds a recipe at the Condiment Prep Table to make flour from grains.
    • Pickled food recipes are moved to the Condiment Prep Table.
With Vanilla Factions Expanded - Medieval:
    • The quality of baijiu affects mood, like wine.

    With SeedsPlease Lite:
    • If SeedsPlease Lite is enabled, specific plants will grow wild in certain biomes, including some modded ones (check Integration below for more details).

If you have a Github system, I can update it for you AND merge in with other Mods.

I understand, but still want to say thanks for your works!

Yes, the mod hasn't been updated to 1.6 yet

In 1.6 ,This mod will cause the information on the right side of the research panel to disappear, maybe we need a update?
Holgast  [ophavsmand] 18. juli kl. 18:08
yeah it seems like medieval 2 just still uses the pipe system
TurtleShroom 18. juli kl. 18:02
The Pipe System is actually easier than you think. I figured out the process system (but not the pipes) easily. The SYR Universal Fermentator is better in every regard, though. Use that.

Ack, the perils of version updates. Much as liquor pipes would be hilarious, that's a real nuisance. Wishing you luck.

(And you've probably already considered it, but I'll swear by [SYR] processor framework as an easy-to-use alternative.)

haha...VEF updated and they've deprecated the item processor code and merged it into the pipe system. will be quite some time to get it working again

ah okay

VEF hasn't been updated yet and is tremendously broken if you try to use it on 1.6. so I won't be able to update this until then
