Initially made by Heavy Atom Industries for export, both the Republic of Pertam and the Republic of Triton who are labeled as "Good Friends and Strategic Partners of the Celestial Federal Republic" wanted a Fighter that is simple to produce got good range and good firepower and good maneuverability mainly intended for Orbital Defense Heavy Atom offered their designs and the Buzzard was accepted, although Triton would have their own version with different cockpit, the RoP however was pleased with the design and the fighter was quickly rolled into production, some CFR officials caught notice of the great maneuverability and wanted the fighter to supplement the Eagle and partially replace the aging non Torpedo Launching Spacehawks. this was more urgent when it was noticed that the Empire of Sol had fighters with better maneuverability, the Eagle was good at BVR and the Spacehawk was durable enough and the Navy wanted the Falcons only for themselves after all it was the Celestial Based Command that refused the Falcon, and opted for the Buzzard and the Spacehawk D upgrade.

They were used extensively during the Titan Campaign against the Empire with decent results, it did multi-role missions from bombing to interception to dog fighting where it out shined the Type-5s and Type-7s.

The Space Buzzards were very liked by their pilots who gave it the nicknames the "Italian Ride" or "Sport Car" or "The Beauty" because of its sleek and elegant design and because of its great handling characteristics.
