Angled railgun launcher

Description
An angled railgun launcher. Railguns are back on the menu for angle ships! Any broken laws of conservation of momentum are not covered by the warranty.

WORK IN PROGRESS.

The part is fully functional and will unlock with the rest of railgun Tech, but the graphics are still a bit bad in places.
Different graphics when damaged, as well as some additional lights, are missing.

Wanted to check for interest first before putting any more work into this, so any suggestions welcome!

Sorry for the delay on this, I haven't played since the big update. It's now on tech number 16, I've tried getting it to accept a dynamic value instead of hard-coding, but it's not cooperating. If you don't want to mess with that, it'll unlock on the EMP Missile tech I htink.

For future reference, here's how to know which tech if it breaks again:
In the Steam directory, go to Cosmoteer/Data/modes/career/ and open techs.rules
The techs are listed in numerical order, with the first one being ID #0. Look for cosmoteer.railgun, which is the tech that unlocks all the railgun bits. Right now, that's the 17th entry in the file, which means tech ID 16.
Then as I said before, open workshop/799600/2888617998/ and edit the mod.rules file. The second-to-last text line (the "AddTo" command) will have a number right before the /PartsUnlocked bit. Change that number to whatever you figured out above (was 9, then 12, now 16).

I just gotta say they broke the tech again and now u gotta buy the other missile types again. Not a big problem or anything just thought u should know

The jankmeister is back! Now properly unlocks with railgun tech.
Also i have absoluitely no idea how to use variables in the Tech unlocks.
Spatzimaus can you tell me? I scoured the internet and didnt find anything. Presumably its some kind of secret discord knowledge

Yes and no. Mechanically, the part still works just fine, as far as I can tell. The issue is that the part was hard-coded to unlock with tech #9, which USED to be the Railgun tech before they added more techs for the various missile types for the missile launchers. Now, Railguns unlock on tech #12, and so the angled part isn't unlocking at the same time.
You just need to go into the mod's files (workshop/799600/2888617998) and edit the mod.rules file. It's not a large file, so finding the 9 and changing it to a 12 is easy enough. I suppose you could change it to access the "cosmoteer.railgun" variable for that ID, but it's not like the game is updated THAT often.

Will this mod be updated to accommodate the late June update that added crew construction? As it stands, like many mods that add a part, it just crashes the game when trying to use it now. One of the issues seems to be that several base-game assets were renamed, resulting in failed calls from mods.

@fion9x3owns Oh the code part is actually very easy. I rotated the bullet emitter vector by 45 degrees. The graphical part was way more tricky and time consuming and it still came out super jank.
