Description
The Sword of the Samurai

Adds a katana.

Katana details:
- Has a weaker stab than the longsword, but has a slightly stronger cut
- Is lighter than the longsword, but has slightly less armor penetration
- Overall DPS is identical to the longsword's in almost all cases

Ah, that was the problem. I wasn't equipping them as shields. You might be able to tell, but I don't use vanilla expanded.

Anyway, I have looked over the files for VE Shields Addon, and I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. What *is* out of the ordinary is the list of people in the comments section having the same issue with a variety of other weapons. Given that there's nothing interesting going on in the files of this mod, I'm confident in saying that either Vanilla Expanded Framework or VE Shields is the source of the issue - and I really don't have the time or expertise to investigate any further.

If someone happens to find a solution, let me know!

No worries. Thanks for trying. Odd that you had he opposite problem I had. I assume you did change the settings both ways while testing? (Also, if you don't click "Equip As Shield" then it assumes you want to equip it as a weapon... its dumb. lol. Anyway, thanks for the effort. My search continues.

Hi Bard. I'm not sure what the issue would be - this katana is basically a vanilla weapon that is statistically similar to the longsword. I tried the VE shield addon mod just to test it out, and I couldn't get the mod to equip a shield and a katana at the same time.

There isn't any code in this mod (just some simple xml), so there shouldn't be anything unusual on my end. Sorry I couldn't offer a better answer.

I got a small... mod conflict? I use "VE Shields Addon". It's really the only hand-held shield mod that actually works. Anyway, within that mod, you can set various weapons to be allowed to wield with a shield or not. However, for this particular weapon, that option doesn't seem to matter. It's always "yes". I have other modded weapons and those ones seem to work fine with the shield mod. This one used to as well, but hasn't since 1.6. Is there anything you can do on your end with this? Is there any way I can help? Thanks ahead of time and thanks for the mod work.

@Sushido Version bumped up for you. I will be releasing a small weapon collection that includes a katana soon, but this mod will stay up for people who only want katanas.
