Capricorn Class Hunter R-23

The Capricorn is a medium-sized hunter submarine, designed for scouting missions and destroying small alien packs.

The R-23 is an upgraded variant from the first; the submarine now sports a heavy flak cannon as its chaser gun, and thoroughly rewired lighting and emergency controls. The engine has been weakened from the additional power draw from its new accessories, but the Capricorn is still quite manoeuvrable for its size.

• Integrated mineral scanner - Like all scout subs I create, the Capricorn enjoys an advanced sonar suite that can identify subsea minerals.
  
  
• 500 max force engine - The submarine's engine is among the strongest ever used on Europa, giving it a base top speed of 27kph for its size. It can easily pursue and escape from threats, and conduct long-range scouting missions.
  
  
• Armoured shell - The outer shell is constructed with improved steel alloys found on Europa, giving it an unusual toughness.
  
  
• Protected Gunnery Deck - The Capricorn's 3 turrets are all controlled from a secure room in the middle of the vessel. It is one of the last rooms to flood, as well as the most accessible area.
  
  
• Viewing Periscopes - The bridge has two periscopes connected to two bow-mounted cameras. Enjoy a clear, sonar-free view of your immediate front.
