Speed Up++++++++

Description
Very powerful optimization mod.

Speed up late game significantly by changing one thing: disabling AI from using 'law_no_migration_controls'.

WHY it works: Migration creates many different pop groups everywhere, the number of which grows exponentially when everyone are using this law. Note that the resources needed to calculate everything scale with the number of different pop groups (if either of job, culture, religion, state is different, they are different groups), rather than total population.

One PDX designer comfirmed on reddit that this is THE major cause of late game lag.

Please note that this is expected to have some negative effect on AI economy.

Another side note: disabling internet while playing reduces a lot of crashes for vic3, reasons unknown.

We can now choose an option to auto-merge partial pops at game start.

Did Paradox fix this with 1.2 or is it still needed?

Does this mean that others cannot migrate to you, since their country closes borders?

Yes you can set the minimum amount of pop converted/assimilated.

So you can put let say the minimum amount to 100-1k and that would remove the most problematic of the immigrants.

@gjh4028

Almost 0, AI is not capable of building enough buildings to hold all population, migration won't help them.

how negative does it do to AI economy? any idea? 80%?
AdamCF 2 Nov, 2022 @ 11:00pm
yes, but the problem is we can only build big cities in the region with lots of pop. And it is a big nerf for England cause it lacks pop.

@Ivanacco1

1. It's very hard to measure to what extend should assimilation be buffed, considering there are many very very different cases to cover. I believe the current implementation (almost non-factor) is pretty decent.

2. I doubt how many resources can be saved even if max buffed. New pop will keep coming in and only a percentage of them will be converted each time. Thus the number of different groups not reduced, just minor groups having much less population. Not 100% sure so if you have some well controlled experiment please correct me.

An easier fix is just to increase assimilation
