What if we Bring EU4's Waifu Universalis to a More Enlightened Age?

Waifu Britannica is the fan spin-off of Claivin's Waifu Universalis, the EU4 anime mod that had the approval of former Paradox employee Groogy. Watch as your country girl changes with the changing of your country's flag and ideology thanks to the robust mechanics of Victoria 3's dynamic flag system.
The world of Victoria 3 is chaotic and unpredictable. Can you guide your country girl and her nation through the tumultuous period of the Victorian Age?

Features

- Over 300 (and counting) handmade portraits that dynamically changes with the flag, featuring Claivin's girls from Waifu Universalis

- A larger, custom made flat 3D flag to better see the flags and the anime portraits
- Around +600 flags overall covering various government types and even obscure scenarios (at least 400 of the flags covers the United States)

- Dynamic unifier portraits for formable nations

- A few country name changes to fit with the naming conventions of Waifu Universalis, as well as new dynamic names to nations covered by this mod (all extra non-flag cosmetic contents can be disabled through a game rule)
- Historical army uniform colors to units for a handful of tags thanks to a discovery by 1230james
- Silly UI button for the flag

- This

Compatibility

Waifu Britannica is compatible with:

- Doodles War Flags & Flag Tweaks
(Get the Compatibility Patch here)

- Victorian Flavor Mod
(Get the Compatibility Patch here)

- Divergences
(Get the Compatibility Patch here)

- GDP Ownership Display
(Get the Compatibility Patch here)

- Built-in compatibility (with varying degrees of integration) with the flags from these mods: Kikko's Formable and Releasable Nations, Formable Nations: Plus, Greece & Byzantium Flavor, Theresia's Communist Overhaul, The Triple Empire - Austrian Expansion

The anime flags from this mod should -in most cases- not be overwritten regardless of load order. Hence, it should be safe to use other flag mods and not lose the anime portraits if both mods uses the same flag definitions.

This mod modifies country_panel_types in country_panel.gui to enlarge the flag shown in the country panel. Any mod that edits the same block may not be compatible with this mod, and I recommend you put Waifu Britannica in a lower in the playset if you want to use WB's country panel gui.

Future Plans
- More flags, more portraits! There are many Waifu Universalis girls that have yet to be adapted over to Waifu Britannica
- More portrait types. Unique portraits for theocracies, anarchists, or even if puppeted by certain overlords
- More dynamic unification portraits. Certain unification tags may be represented by their starting unifiers (eg. a Germany represented by Prussia, or Austria, or tiny Frankfurt)

Auxiliary & Recommended Mods

Country Rank Name Changes
This mod renames the country rank to character-based ones. Originally part of the main mod but has since been decoupled into its own sub-mod.

CN Translation Mod
CN translation of Waifu Britannica by LOROK

I would also highly recommend using Lord R's Better Civil War Flag. No more middle flag tear!

[discord.gg]

Do you want to give recommendations for the country girls' designs? Or to download a full-body HD picture of the portraits? Or to complain about the moral degradation of Paradoxian civilisation? Then you can join our Discord![discord.gg]

Alternatively, you can also join the server of Claivin's Waifu Universalis[discord.gg], whose niche but dedicated community helped spawn the creation of Waifu Britannica.

Do you wish to see the full artworks without joining a Discord server? Then you can check out the albums on my Pixiv account[www.pixiv.net].

Do you still play Victoria 2 for 'reasons'? Then my friend comradesinarms has made a Victoria 2 port of this mod. You can check it out here!

If you would like to, you can show your support to this mod by either supporting me on Patreon[patreon.com] or donating me on Kofi[ko-fi.com]! I work on these artworks whenever I have the free time to, and it also takes time for me to research as best as I could so the girls can better represent the nation they anthropomorphize, so I appreciate any support sent!

Can I Port This Mod to EU5 / Will There Be an EU5 Port?

No. I will not port nor give permission to port Waifu Britannica to EU5, as there is already a planned Waifu Universalis adjacent project by another artist. Please support Kravin's project instead once the time comes.

Credits

Claivin - A majority of the girls in this mod were originally created by Claivin for Waifu Universalis. Without his creations, as well as his permission and blessing for me to use his characters for my own mod, then Waifu Britannica would have never existed.

Vladisvlach - for providing the flat 3D flag used in this mod.

Waifu Universalis community - For helping with character designs and supporting this mod throughout its development.

Jamm#9337 - For providing the inspiration for Piratini's design through his character, Rio Grande dol Sul.

Kravin - His original character South Carolina is used in this mod.

Yayoi - He co-designed South Peru.

@snowbear ah must have been the other one as its not there as an avaialble journal option like it was at the start of the game, such is life, probably me not reading things fully tbh lol
SnowBear  [author] 12 hours ago
@Paroxysm If it's in green text then there is a decision to show all the options again
Paroxysm 19 hours ago
@Snowbear i believe it was the hide in green text one, just the toggle in the journal area so it wasnt a popup as such. probably my fault tbh but i didnt know/think it would like fully remove the option for ever lol just thought itd hide all the options temporarily

@Paroxysm Wait crap did you click on the one with the 'Hide' in green text or the 'Remove' in red text with the big red tooltip warning lol

If it's the latter I'm afraid it's gone for good (though I guess I could remove and undo the decision through an update, since it was a relic of a different time)

love this so far, quick q, initially in my journal i clicked the hide flag options (which it did) i however would like them back so i can change my flag, is there a way to bring back the journal option for this?

Alright so I'm not too sure how fast I can pump out Croatia and Galicia-Lodomeria (since my irl job's workload usually ramps up at the end of the year)

But they do have designs prepared that you can see over at my Twitter & Bluesky

@长弓Tamerlane You know those two were supposed to be next after Chile, but then things got really busy for me in the first half of September and by the time all of that settled the release date for National Awakening was fast approaching lol

I'll return to them once I finish the slight detour to the Austrian Empire

When will Venezuela and Ecuador be added?? These are the only two flags missing from South America

@Nagasaki Oh you're in luck because I'm planning on doing Galicia-Lodomeria after Croatia haha

Bohemia is also in the current roadmap, though whether I move her up in the priority is a bridge to cross later
