This guide will tell you what levels you should be towards the end of each world, and any extra areas worth doing to get some extra xp throughout your time in the game and make sure you don't end up dying too many times as a solo player, or even in a group

Wizard City

The first area in Wizard101 and home to all new players and gathering spot for people who beg for packs and offer 1 mil gp packs for gf reside.

This is the easiest world in the game and is basically just a big tutorial to help you learn the combat systems of the game and figure out how everything works. But is a key world to making sure you keep up in levels as you progress through the game. It offers a wide variety of main quest, side quests, and any time an event quest is happening you'll most likely find it here.

When I'm normally leveling a character for the first time I make sure to always do all of the side quests for each street. You have access to Unicorn Way and Triton Avenue as a non-member player, unless it's one of those free membership weeks/weekends. There's a couple optional streets you can do as you progress through Wizard City, Colossus Boulevard being one of them, this streets is where the game starts throwing 2 enemies at you instead of 1, it's always nice to have a spell that can hit all enemies in a battle but most schools won't get them for a few more levels. When finishing up Wizard Cities streets with all of their side quests you will most likely find yourself around level 11-12 as you gain access to the next world. Once you've hit level 12 however, the NPC named Sohomer SunBlade will give you a quest to go into a side area called Crab Alley, this area is not only good for experience, but is also home to a level 60 dungeon that you will use later on to obtain some really good gear. Once you finish Crab Alley that should have given you 2 or 3 extra level to help you keep up with the worlds later on.
Krokotopia

Well, we made it to Krokotopia, home of sand, more sand, and wait is that an area full of ice? At this point you're probably around level 13-14 and you're like okay, what's next? Well, in this world, not much honestly, your big goal here is to hit level 25, and to do that, there only one thing you can do. Yep more quests and side quests, if you have gold to spare I'd recommend heading over to Wizard City and hitting up the Bazaar for some of your schools attack all spells, unless you're a school that doesn't get them later in the game like life or death. Not saying it wouldn't be worth it as a life or death but your spells will cost a lot more pips to cast in combat so I think it would be easier to blade up and hit them normally. As you continue through Krok, make sure you're keeping an eye out for gear that can give you some more damage, accuracy, and power pip chance as that will help you get your quests done much faster since you'll be able to burn through your quest quicker making short work of Krokotopia and hitting that level 25 milestone as well as probably having your own schools attack all spell unlocked by then if not be rather close to unlocking it. Once you're finished with Krokotopia you're looking to be around level 25 if you aren't there you shouldn't worry about it you should still be pretty close and you can just do some quests in the next world to grab those couple levels.
Wysteria

You've made it to level 25 and the headmaster has a new quest for you, this world is one of the two optional worlds worth doing. The experience in this world is absolutely great and you'll easily go from level 25 to level 30 by just finishing the world and side quests which is our next goal so that we can finally get some decent gear to last us until we hit level 60 for the gear I mentioned earlier. Not much can be said for Wysteria other than it's good for experience so we're keeping this one short and sweet.
Mount Olympus

Once you've hit level 30 head over to Cyrus Drake the Myth Professor and grab the quest for entrance into Aquila, a side area of Wizard City you gain access to at level 30.

Once you've gotten access into Aquila, you'll have one dungeon available to you, Mount Olympus, the final boss of this dungeon will drop the Zeus gear which is what will carry you all the way until you hit level 60, the bad thing about this is that the dungeon is pretty tough for a level 30, so I would really recommend looking for a group with somebody higher leveled to carry you through the dungeon or if you have a friend that's higher leveled ask them for carries. Mount Olympus has one secret boss that is meant for level 90's to fight, however, if you find somebody currently farming him, I'd say jump in because even though you won't be able to use the gear he drops until level 90, the ring is the only thing you would need from him, and he will also drop a pet call an Enchanted Armament which has the sharpen blade spell that you can use to enhance your blades by 10% and they will also stack with the regular version of those blades so you can double your blade count from just using a pet.

There's not too much to this area, but I'd say make sure you run the dungeon at least twice because you can get xp from dungeons twice before it stops giving you the experience for completing the quest for it so make sure you milk it for all the experience it has while farming your gear, you'll be coming back here for 2 more dungeons at level 70, and 90.
Marleybone

Welcome to Marleybone, or welcome back if you came here to grab a couple levels before heading over to Wysteria.

By the time you're starting out in this you most likely have your attack all spell unless you're life or death, unless you learned about loremaster and farmed up deer knight for a death spell. You're also probably around level 30-31 from doing Mount Olympus if you manged to get some runs in from that and grab some gear. In this world there's not much to say for it other than to keep doing what you've been doing and grabbing all of the side quest for that extra experience. By this point you're probably leveling up a little slower since you're over-leveled because if you hadn't been doing side quests you'd probably be here around level 24 or so, that just show's how much difference there can be when you choose to do side quests. This world has a few key dungeons that show up during the main quests and I'd recommend running them each twice, even though they can take some time that extra experience will be worth it, because our next goal will be at level 48.
Mooshu

Welcome to Mooshu, land of cow samurais and ninja pigs, starting this world you're probably gonna be around level 35 or 36 considering you probably didn't get too many levels since you were over-leveled in Marleybone.

This world is about the same length as Marleybone but seems longer because of the size of the area's but will probably get you to about level 40-42 if you've been doing all of the side quests, there's a few dungeons you can do a couple times to get some of that extra experience, and by now you've most likely figured out the combat system in a way you can just breeze through your battles with ease so let's get on to the next world, don't worry you won't have to do side quests forever!
DragonSpyre

Oh boy, you've made it to the final world of the first story arc in Wizard101, this world is gonna be the longest one you've done yet and you should be around level 42 entering into this one.

Your one goal in this world is to hit level 48, I don't really remember if you'll do that before finishing the world, but if you happen to hit 48 in the middle of the world, you're done with side quests if you want to be at the point, if not, more experience for you! At this point my guide is almost over and there's just a couple places left to cover, however let me say, once you hit 48, you should have access to your schools 7 pip attack all spell, or if you're life 8 pip. Just because it costs more pips doesn't mean you necessarily have to use it in every battle, in mob battles it's definitely quicker to use your 4 pip attack all, but if you're life or death, you're stuck with your 7 and 8 pip spells.
Grizzleheim

If you haven't been to Grizzleheim yet, welcome, this is by far my least favorite world because it is extremely long and dreadful if you're over-leveled, but in the end it's extremely worth it.

Your goal in Grizzleheim is to just finish the world, you can skip all of the side quests because the experience at this point just isn't worth it because you're way over the recommended level. You're probably wondering why you're even doing this world then, the answer to that is to unlock Wintertusk, a side area in Grizzleheim only accessible after hitting level 48 and finishing the world. Your big hurdle in this world is gonna be after you finish the final area it's gonna throw you into a dungeon that has bosses with waaaaay more health than you can handle at your level, so grab a friend much higher level than you and watch them stomp them.

Now you're ready for Wintertusk
Wintertusk

Welcome to Wintertusk, this will be the final area that you're gonna need to do side quests in, I would HIGHLY recommend do every single quest and side quest in the area because the amount of experience it gives you is absolutely insane.

Your goal in this area is to reach level 58-60 which will be easily obtainable because of the experience rates here. The world can be a little challenging but if you ever get stuck on a boss make sure you remember that you have access to the team up feature. There's not really much I can say other than do your side quests and at the end of the area there's a dungeon that you should definitely run twice for that bonus experience.
Celestia

Welcome to Celestia, I'm only adding this world on here just in-case you've finished Wintertusk without hitting level 60.

At this point, Celestia is gonna be rather easy for you after Wintertusk, so if you want to you can do side quests to hit that level 60 milestone, if not you should be fine and just play the world how you want to play it and you'll get there eventually.
Gear Dungeons and Final Words
Congratulations, you've made it to the end of the guide, if you were following as you leveled your character you shouldn't be under-leveled for any of the rest of the game, and if you are, just grab a few side quest ;).

I wanted to give you a list of a few key dungeons that you should grind out for gear once you've hit the appropriate levels. As I mentioned at the start of the guide, you're probably level 60 now, so you have access to the waterworks dungeon, this has gear that is going to carry you all the way until level 90, most of the time you can find groups for the waterworks in team-up and there's a chance you can have a higher leveled wizard on your team to make your run a lot easier, but you should definitely make sure you put all of that leveling to good use by getting waterworks gear.

Once you've hit level 70, it'll give you access to your second Aquila dungeon Atlantea. You won't need to farm this dungeon for any gear so you can just run it twice for the experience it gives and call it a day and head back to questing.

At level 90 you'll gain access to the final Aquila dungeon Tartarus, this is the hardest and longest of the Aquila dungeons but the gear dropped by the final boss of the dungeon will give you big boosts to your stats, you'll be looking out for the Hades gear, however if it's taking too long to farm all of it and you just want to continue, one or two pieces should suffice because the next big dungeon isn't too far off.

Level 100 brings the Darkmoor dungeon, this dungeon takes a pretty long time to complete if your team doesn't know what they're doing, but there's a bunch of guides on the wiki to make your life a whole lot easier, the dungeon has 3 parts to it and once you get to the third part you can just farm that final part over and over again for your gear. It can take a long time to get the gear from the final boss but the grind is honestly really worth it because that gear will carry you to almost end game.

This will be the end of the guide and hopefully you will have an easier time leveling your character now that you know be over-leveled is super easy to do as long as you have the patience to do so, and the payout is super rewarding. If there's anything you think I've missed or have any feedback feel free to reach out to me and I'll look into improving my guide in order to help people gain a better understanding of the game. Thank you for reading and have fun casting spells out there gamers.
