Youmu Konpaku

The half-human, half-ghost dual-wielding Youmu Konpaku is here to school you!
A gardener of the Netherworld, who also happens to be a swordplay instructor, she serves her mistress Yuyuko Saigyouji, the lady of the ghost shrine Hakugyokuro.
Armed with Roukanken, a long-bladed katana said to have been made by youkai (with a debatable legend claiming it can kill ten phantoms in a single slice), and Hakurouken, the ancestral wakizashi of the Konpaku family has the power to dispel the confusion of whoever it cuts.
Her straightforward, diligent personality may lead to her being manipulated, though one would be unwise to underestimate her power potential. She is the succeeding gardener and the student of Youki Konpaku; a half-human, half-ghost himself who has not been seen for several years.
Ironically, she dislikes ghost stories.

NEUTRAL SPECIAL: Charge / Slashing A Flower Upon One's Head
Youmu will order her ghostly half to rush towards the foe, ignoring shields. When it hits, it will deal damage and keep going past them, potentially adding a second hit just before fading away.
Opponents attempting to dodge the first and second hit must dodge at the right moment, though this may leave them vulnerable to another hit from Youmu before they can deal a counterattack.
If the opponent is too close to Youmu, this move is likely to miss entirely, making this most effective at long range to pressure and harass opponents out of range.

Sharing this input, if pressed before her ghostly half fades away, Youmu will instead perform Slashing A Flower Upon One's Head, a downward sword swipe.


SIDE SPECIAL: "Slash of Life and Death"
A combo type move with Roukanken that can be inputted up to three times. Pressing the Attack button as the final input instead of Special will provide a different finisher.
The first and second slashes possess hitstun, allowing for Youmu to mix up her combo game.

UP SPECIAL: "Crescent Moon Slash"
Youmu jumps up and slashes in a crescent motion. Just before the slash, Youmu gains invulnerability. This move leaves Youmu in free fall until she lands.


DOWN SPECIAL: Insightful Sword
Youmu attempts to parry the foe in front of her; if she is struck in front as she glows, she will strike down hard on the opponent to punish them, dealing a fierce blow of heavy damage to a wide area in front of her. Opponents that are or have ended behind her due to a moving attack will not take the damage.
This move can swat down enemies attempting to recover from above if their recovery has a hitbox.


ULTRA: Obsessor "Slash of Eternity"
Youmu performs a straight slash, rushing forward, Iaido style. If it hits, it will launch the foe upwards to be caught in a flurry of slashes that ends with a powerful vertical lance, Youmu shooting upwards.



SPECIAL MECHANICS
Youmu's main sword (Roukanken) deals more damage closer towards the hilt, while the tip provides far more knockback. The middle of the blade possesses a balance of both.

Youmu's Up-Light and non-charged Dash attack both have secondary hits by being tapped twice in quick succession.
Youmu's Dash attack can be charged to slash with both blades, sending out a spirit cross-slash that propels forward. Though this cross-slash can be reflected by a well-timed parry, it shreds through shields.

PROS:
Due to Roukanken's properties of dealing more damage closer to the hilt and the tip launching enemies farther, Youmu manages to be most deadly if she can balance keeping the foe between maximum and minimum range.
Many of her moves can combo fluidly into one another, providing limitless mix up potential, especially when used in conjunction with Roukanken's properties.
Youmu excels at pressuring the foe into the defensive and countering the foe when they are on the offensive.

CONS:
Youmu is a relatively balanced character, and has little faults. Her most glaring weakness is the lack of reliable projectiles, as a melee character. Her charge Dash cross-slash can also be reflected by a savvy player.
