Turns out, you can't just subscribe and play the game, you have to follow some steps since addons initialize AFTER the game starts, not before it.

You're going to need a tool called GCFScape to install this addon. You can google search it and find it on either Nem's Tools or GameBanana (I was worried about linking the site just in case people didn't trust me, but honestly that's on you guys, so the link will be here tomorrow when I edit this again and I'm keeping this entire sentence in here because it's funny)

Download either the ZIP or EXE and either unzip or install GCFScape and run it.

THE SECOND VIDEO IS A TUTORIAL VIDEO :))

1) Subscribe to the mod
2) Run Left 4 Dead 2 to initialize the addon, then close it
3) Open up your file browser and go to (on Windows) C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop
4) Look for the thumbnail that matches the one above and find the .vpk file with the same title (It should be 2867924955 but I may be wrong)
5) Open GCFScape then click and drag the proper .vpk file into it, then open the media folder
6) In your file browser, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\media and rename "valve.bik" to literally anything else (.bik) so you don't have to verify game files when you don't want to use this addon anymore.
6) in GCFScape, drag the file "valve.bik" into the media folder in your file browser
7) Enjoy!

If you're like me and have the intro video disabled, don't forget to disable it by removing -novid in the launch options!!

To uninstall the addon, unsubscribe to this addon (or don't, it won't do anything anyway lmao), go to the media folder mentioned above, delete valve.bik, and rename the ORIGINAL valve.bik back from whatever you changed it to.
