Description
Sound Overhaul addon for Garry's Mod. Replaces almost all of the default Main Menu and In-Game sounds with various authentic sound effects from Metal Gear Solid. This addon also includes a dynamic health sound system that plays sound cues according to how low the player's health is, also recreated to behave similarly to Metal Gear Solid's health sound system while not being overly present or obstructive for Half Life 2's Gameplay Style.

Features:
  • Authentic Metal Gear Solid sound effects for the Main Menu and In-Game sounds. Most of the sounds are taken from MGS2 and MGS4. Replaces the following sounds:

    -Menu Cursor Hover
    -Menu Cursor Click
    -Menu Cursor Return
    -Inventory Select Weapon
    -Inventory Scroll Weapon
    -Suit Warning
-Suit Deny (when using healing stations at max health)
    -Load Save
    -Workshop Content Downloaded
    -Ammo Pickup
    -Weapon Pickup
    -Battery Pickup
    -Health (Ration) Pickup
    -Spawn Menu Clicking
    -Flashlight Clicking

  • Unique "Low Health System" which plays Low Health sound cues when the player's health drops below a certain value. Going below 15 HP will cause the player to hear a familiar heartrate sensor beeping. Healing up (or dying) will cause the sound effect to go away until the conditions are met again during gameplay.

  • Health Vials and Health Kits are now replaced with Rations from Metal Gear Solid 2. They have slight color differences between each type for easier spotting.

  • Supply Crates now play an "Item Dropped" sound cue when they're destroyed.

  • Best combined with my Low Health Regeneration.

Limitations:
  • This addon is intended to be used mainly when playing Custom, Objective-Based Half Life 2 maps. It has also only been tested for Single Player matches, so there may be unnoticed bugs during Multiplayer matches.
