SPOOKWARE Episode 2 Guide

A basic guide for SPOOKWARE Episode 2 which includes Chapters 4 and 5! It covers the moment-to-moment story beats as well as the new mechanics introduced in the latter's chapter.

Chapter IV - The Prison

  • After exiting your prison cell, go to the right, then down the stairs. There'll be a door near the bottom stairwell that'll take you to the courtyard.

  • Speak with the guard closest to the door you just came out of.

  • Speak with the trio of prisoners on the basketball court and challenge them to a game.

  • After completing the microgame, select the option Hacktool to proceed.

  • Speak to Mr. Blue again, then use the Hacktool on the box to your right.

  • After completing the box's microgame, speak to Mr. Blue again, who will ask you to go to the prison's factory. You can access the factory from the door all the way on the left, then down the subsequent hallway.

  • After you enter the factory and have the conversation with Mr. Blue, return to your cell and wait until nighttime.

  • During nighttime in your cell, interact with your bed on the right-hand side of your cell. Interact with the vent and complete it's microgame.

  • Go down the vent and exit out the other side, then use the Hacktool on the box similar to the one in the courtyard.

  • After completing the microgame, go down the shaft on the left, the speak with the NPC in the sewers. Once your Hacktool has been upgraded, leave the sewers and return to the previous room.

  • Leave through the other vent (the one on the right) and walk down to the left until you reach a pathway jutting towards the center of the screen. Go down that path and enter the panopticon.

  • Inside the panopticon, interact with the computer on the left side and hack it, starting a microgame.

  • After successfully completing the microgame and hacking the system, return to the factory, taking care to avoid the roaming spotlights. If they catch you, it'll incite a microgame!

  • Once you're in the factory, speak with Mr.Blue, who'll be nearby. He'll join your party, and then you'll make your way to the train on the other side of the factory room. Again, take care not to get caught by the roaming spotlights and patrolling guards. Make use of the dead-end conveyor belts to avoid both.

  • After getting caught by the guards and getting thrown into a cell, step on the large button at the back-right of the cell to light up the room. You'll notice one of the padded panels popping off on the left side. You can walk there and interact with it now. Select Pull It and complete the hacking microgame that'll initiate.

  • Tap the big red button three times to continue.

  • After the conversation with Mr.Blue, return to the panopticon and interact with the computer to initiate the chapter's set of Boss Microgames.

Chapter V - The Train

  • After entering the train, go to the right. This chapter will have you moving from train cart to train cart often, and the way to proceed will always be to the right.

  • Interact with the stacked boxes in the middle of the next train cart to start a microgame, in this chapter, the microgames will be in a first-person perspective in a full 3D playspace! To complete this and similar microgames, you'll have to reach the exit using movement and jumping!

  • Move to the next cart and interact with the boxes to start another platforming microgame. Careful, though, this one has a time limit!

  • Go on to the next cart and interact with the haystacks to start another platforming microgame. This one will feature pits, which will automatically count as a loss if you fall in.

  • Interact with the pile of clothes, then the mattresses. After the cutscene, move on to the next cabin.

  • Collide with the space-faring critter in the middle of the cabin to start a microgame, with our new friend joining! Colliding with these creatures in microgames will count as a loss, so be careful! You can smack them to stun them for a bit. After completing the microgame, move onto the next cart.

  • You'll notice the doorways on both sides of the cabin will close when you enter this cart. From this point on, you'll have to defeat the aliens in the room in order to raise the gates!

  • Eventually, you'll encounter a microgame with a pink-pupiled alien alongside it's before-seen friends. These particular aliens will shoot pellets at the player at a set interval, so keep an eye for that!

  • Eventually, you're reach a gap between cabins and the door to the next one will be locked. To proceed, you'll have to climb on top of the next cabin using the ladder to your right. Once you're on top of the cabin, you'll encounter a rather large alien and touching it will start a new microgame.

  • To complete the microgame, you'll have to slap it into the sign posts as they come along. Incoming signposts will be indicated by the flashing X and sound cues. The big alien will slowly close the distance between you and it if you move too far away, and you can slap it to stun it and leave it in place.

  • Defeating the big alien will award you with a Gun Blaster. This'll come into play for the next set of microgames. Walk down the opposite end of the cart and interact with next cabin's door to continue.

  • In the next microgame, you'll notice you'll have the blaster equipped. Shoot the Alien enough times and they'll be defeated, opening the exit gate.

  • Eventually, you'll run into an incredibly odd cart, which will also be reflected in the upcoming microgames, along with a new mechanic! There will be ripples that you can shoot at, and doing so will affect the environment in some way or form.

  • When you reach the engine room, getting close to the engine itself will initiate the beginning scenes of the boss fight. This Chapter Finale is wildly different from previous finales, with the level's perspective and platforming taking a front-row seat.

  • How to Defeat Boss:To complete this fight, you'll have to make it to the opposite end of the train cart. To get there, you'll have to jump from platform to platform while the boss shoots projectiles at you. Getting hit with these projectiles will start a microgame. After exiting a microgame, you'll get a slight bump into the air, allowing you to get your bearings if you got caught mid-jump by one of these projectiles.

  • After you complete the Boss Encounter, interact with the spilled milk on the left side. A car will then come into the scene on the right. Interact with it to complete the chapter!

Anyone else get to just before the final boss of Chapter 5, get softlocked, exit out to reset it, and find that they had to do the entire chapter over again from the start?

Are you doing a guide for all achievements for these chapters?
