A Dangerous Strike

Once you strike all the targets, use the terrain to your advantage and make a dash for your airbase, where friendly forces will be ready to deal with the enemy fighters.

For your first successful attempt, you'll likely have to quicksave often. The closer you can get without being detected and the quicker you can take out the targets, the easier it will be to get back to your airbase alive. I don't want to give too much away, but there are multiple gaps of varying difficulty ;)

Sure thing! The biggest tip I can give is to first circle the enemy airbase from afar (experiment with the distance!) to let your F-45's sensors automatically map out enemy radar sites on your TSD. Getting pinged by a radar source doesn't automatically mean you are detected, as long as you're a good distance away and are facing towards or exposing your side to the source (stealthier angles). Avoid exposing your rear! The radio comm you hear about fighters scrambling is to notify you that you got detected, delayed by about ~15 sec.

With the information from your TSD, you can find and exploit gaps in the enemy's radar coverage to approach undetected, with the help of the terrain. You can use whatever is easiest for you to destroy the tents, but make sure you bring something heavy enough to take out the bunker. I would recommend anything that doesn't require you to guide it after firing, so you can freely evade and more importantly, quickly get behind cover.

Mind giving those of us who have some trouble beating this mission some tips? its a really nicely made mission, but some tips for those of us less skilled people reading this section might be a little nice :)

Glad you liked this one! I spent a lot of time playing around with the difficulty to make sure it was challenging but consistently beatable if you employ good tactics.

Got the strike done and on my RTB I tried to dogfight the nearby 58s to get them to stop blasting missiles at me, ended up in a turn fight all the way up to 25,000 feet, no missiles and just guns. Lost all my airspeed and began a dive down after expending half my gun ammunition aimlessly trying desperatly to kill just one of them, just as a F-26 saved me, blasting down the two 58s. I was just able to escape with bingo fuel and had to glide down onto the runway with heavy damage.
