Preface
This is not exactly new information, but it is a little elusive. That's why I decided to just quickly write this up.

21 march 2025 update

Added sections about Objective Mode and Endless Mode.
How to do it on Survival Mode
So here's the command you need:

getall kfgamereplicationinfo bossindex

Very simply copy this, open the in-game console (~ for full console, F3 for small console), paste it and enter. You will get a string of text that looks like this:

The only thing you need is the number at the end. The number represents the boss:
0 = Hans Volter
1 = Patriarch
2 = King Fleshpound
3 = Abomination
4 = Matriarch
So in the case of the screenshot, you'll face the Abomination.
How to do it on Objective Mode
For the following objective mode maps, you can use the command just fine:
  • Outpost (boss wave: 7)
  • Bioticslab (boss wave: 8)
  • Steam Fortress (boss wave: 10)
For the remaining maps, the bosses are as follows, because they are scripted that way:
  • Nuked - Hans Volter (boss wave: 8)
  • Zed Landing - King Fleshpound (boss wave: 8)
  • Santa's Workshop - Abomination (boss wave: 11)

(Santa's Workshop is not technically an Objective Mode map as it falls under Survival Mode, but it's worth mentioning since it somewhat follows the Objective Mode formula, plus the boss is the same every time)
How to do it on Endless Mode
Simply use the command again after you defeat a boss to see what boss is next.
Conclusion
I don't see it as a cheat and I am not interested in the discussion. If it really was a cheat, the developers would've left the command out of the players' reach.

Thanks for reading and I hope you found this useful!

Thank god for this, I can finally swap off Beserker before I have to do a solo Abomination!

Did you know that console commands are also used to change settings and gameplay unrelated stuff? I'd be impressed if you could actually cheat with them on a server you don't own.

I really don't care and think people blow cheating out of proportion these days, especially with non-multiplayer games, but dev console commands often have god mode and no clip and stuff. The argument that "it's a console command" is completely invalid.

Ya I'm with Captain Soulsnatcher on this one its not really cheating if it is in console. I think its just a scenario check to show which one has loaded.

Mainly for de-bugging. If any scenario has an issue they can call up this prompt.

:DJSkully: This is actually very useful. Especially if you're playing with a coordinated HoE 6p lobby, this could be very useful. Thanks so much, here :Dosh:

I don't think this is cheating as it's most likely a developer tool to check if the boss system was working properly.

pretty cool but i like tryna guess what the boss is with my friends, then acting like jesus when one of us gets it correct

It's not cheating because it was designed in the game for the developers, merely activating these commands isn't an act of malicious use of cheats or exploit; only reading and demanding information through the console.
It's not cheating or exploiting.
