More Warband Upgrades for Warriors of Chaos

Description
Works for 6.2

The full power of the Chaos roster now in YOUR hands!
Expands the Warriors of Chaos Warband upgrade system, allowing you to upgrade nearly every unit in the chaos roster into more powerful units dedicated to the Dark Gods. If upgrading marauders into daemons feels "un-lore-friendly" to you, just think of it as sacrificing your battle hardened warriors to summon a host of daemons in the name of the chaos gods. Or just don't use that feature, this mod adds a whole bunch of other stuff as well.

This mod is SAVE GAME COMPATIBLE - Safe to add to and/or remove from an existing save.
SFO COMPATIBLE. Semi-compatible with Radious (as long as you don't use Warband Ultimate for Radious by Last of the Romans. New units added by radious will be MISSING from upgrade tree).

WHEN REPORTING AN ISSUE, PLEASE MENTION WHICH FACTION YOU WERE PLAYING AS.

Known Issues:
  • Single entity units lose health upon being upgraded. This is due to the internal handling of upgrades by the engine. Removing all entities in a unit to make it a single entity also takes away the proportionate amount of health. It is recommended to upgrade these in friendly territory and let them replenish for a turn or two.

RoR Update:
Planned with a UI overhaul and redesign of the upgrade tree, after the Slaanesh DLC comes out.

Extra features:
  • Adds some missing units to the 4 Champions of Chaos factions along with their upgrade paths, same as the core Warriors of Chaos factions.
  • Removes the Gifted Daemon Units cap (of 6) from Warriors of Chaos factions. This cap is disabled for Be'lakor by default, I extended that effect to WoC as well.
  • Archaon and Be'lakor get access to nearly the entire chaos roster through upgrades. Gives them the feel of a true Everchosen.

@Reaper415 I greatly appreciate that, thank you.

@Joker I'll go there and leave a guide on what to do and how to do it, so you can refer to it later and make the patch at your own convenience

just did, and before I forgot, put in my request on how to go about doing so.

@Joker No worries. Join the warband discord too and I'm sure the modders there will be happy to help you out as much as possible. I'm there too but I don't use discord much, but I'm easily available on steam, if you want assistance just shoot me a dm.

@Reaper415 I will definitely look into seeing about doing that myself when I have more energy (I've had a busy day, so probably not for a day or so).

I already have Warband Upgrade Ultimate - swear by it, best warband mod out there, plenty of space to work with. I'll see what I can do.

Thank you. :3

Yey :D

thx my G, you made the game much less annoying for me :>

@ELECTROMAN!!!!!! That's it. Festus and all the other CoC don't have access to dragon ogres and Shaggoths for some reason. I've added them in. Thanks for reminding me. This was brought to my attention a few years ago but at that time I wasn't filling missing units in the roster, so maybe that's why I didn't add them back then, and then I completely forgot about it. You shouldn't have to restart your campaign, you can continue playing festus and get shaggoths for Kholek now.

@Joker I took a look at the mod and it seems it adds several new units, and moves things around on the UI to make room for them, causing major incompatibility (i.e. unit cards overlapping) with other warband mods. To fix that you'll need to create a simple submod that just moves things around on the UI. Since neither of us use each other's mod, I think your best bet is to make it on your own.

To do that yourself, go to BAGholder's Warband Upgrade Ultimate mod (linked in the description). He has a guide on how to make warband related mods, and also a link to the warband discord you can join and ask for help. All you need is to download RPFM and add the units you want to move to the unit_upgrade_group_ui_infos_tables table around so that they don't overlap.
You should get BAGholder's mod as well since it makes enough space on the UI for everything to fit, or wait a few months until the Slaanesh DLC comes out after which my mod will do the same.

Good luck!

Hey reaper,

No, I don't have any mods for warbands. I did get access to Kholek from using the "gather defeated lords" mod while doing my first festus campaign, so perhaps there's some strange kind of incompatibility between factions? I really can't think of any other mod that might be doing it.

I'll start a kholek campaign soon just to check, but my mod list is already pretty short, about 10 mods or something.

I'll let ya know if I find out what's causing it :)

thx 4 da mod king

Just a quick question, and I have no idea if you can answer this. Is there a possibility of adding compatibility with Dead Baron's Chaos Marauder Expansion?

https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3333868527 - link to the other mod for clarity.

I'm just curious cuz I would love to have both this mod and that mod in use at the same time. I haven't found a submod for that purpose, and have no idea how to go about making one (I'm not a person with experience making mods).
