Special conditions of detention: SCP-035 should be kept in a sealed glass box with a wall thickness of at least 10 centimeters. The box, in turn, must be permanently stored in a chamber with steel, iron or lead walls. The door to the cell must be permanently closed for at least three locks, opening the door is allowed only if access is necessary for personnel. The entrance must be guarded at all times by at least two (2) armed security personnel. The guards must always be outside the cell and under no circumstances enter inside. Also, a qualified psychologist should be constantly present nearby. Employees involved in research should not touch SCP-035 under any circumstances. Every two (2) weeks, SCP-035 must be moved to a new crate, while the remnants of the previous one are disposed of by SCP-101, since the latter does not show susceptibility to the decomposing effects of SCP-035. Any individual who comes into contact with SCP-035 during the period of possession of the carrier should be provided with immediate psychological assistance.

Description: SCP-035 has the appearance of a white porcelain mask of a comedian, although periodically the mask takes the form of a tragedian. When this happens, all existing images of SCP-035, including photographs, videos, and even hand-drawn paintings, spontaneously change, reproducing a new kind of object.

A viscous, unpleasant-looking and extremely caustic liquid constantly oozes out of the mouth and eye openings of SCP-035. The chemical composition of this liquid remains unknown. Any object that comes into contact with a liquid slowly decomposes into elementary components, while the period of complete decomposition varies depending on the material of which the object consists. Since glass has shown the greatest resistance to the decomposing effects of SCP-035, it was chosen as the material for the manufacture of a containment container. Living organisms that come into contact with a liquid are subjected to almost the same effect, without the possibility of cure. Fluid release is observed only from the front side of the object, but does not occur or is not visible from the back side.

Subjects who are at a distance of 1.5 to 2 meters from SCP-035 or who come into visual contact with it experience an extremely strong desire to put the object on themselves. When SCP-035 is placed on the subject's face, the host's system of brain impulses is blocked and suppressed by an alternative one emanating from SCP-035, which leads to the death of the host's brain, as a result of which the host becomes the embodiment of the personality enclosed in SCP-035. The bodies of "possessed" subjects decompose at an increased rate, soon coming to a state little distinguishable from a mummified corpse. Nevertheless, SCP-035 exhibits the ability to maintain cognitive control over substantially damaged bodies, even at a degree of decomposition at which motor activity is mechanically impossible. When put on the animal's muzzle, the effect does not manifest itself.

Communication with SCP-035 was informative. Researchers have found out a number of details about several SCP objects, as well as about history in general, since SCP-035 apparently witnesses many important historical events. SCP-035 shows a high level of intelligence and charm, treating any interlocutor very kindly and flatteringly. The object has successfully passed absolutely all the proposed tests for the level of intelligence and intelligence, while it is established that SCP-035 has a photographic memory.

However, psychological analysis has found that SCP-035 has an extreme tendency to manipulation, coupled with the ability to dramatically and radically influence the mental state of the interlocutor. SCP-035 shows sadistic tendencies, for example, one of the interlocutors during a simple conversation was convinced to commit suicide, and a number of others were turned into almost thoughtless servants. SCP-035 claims to be deeply versed in the mechanisms of human thinking and, with sufficient time, can radically change the beliefs of any interlocutor.

Appendix 035-01: SCP-035 has been found to have the ability to take control of any humanoid-shaped objects, including corpses, statues, and mannequins. Since the object is capable of driving all of the above, there is no need for live carriers. Nevertheless, any object used as a carrier inevitably decomposes to almost complete destruction.

Appendix 035-02: SCP-035 prepared an escape by convincing several members of the scientific staff to assist in an attempt to free themselves. The mutiny was stopped, and all employees who came into contact with SCP-035 were eliminated. Mandatory psychological monitoring has been introduced for any employees intending to interact with SCP-035 in the future.

Appendix 035-03: It has been established that SCP-035 exhibits the ability to telepathy regardless of the possession of the carrier, including penetration into the subconscious of others and using the information obtained for their own benefit. Extreme caution is recommended when selecting subjects to communicate with SCP-035.

Appendix 035-04: SCP-035 there has been interest in a number of other SCP objects, especially expressed in SCP-4715 and SCP-682. The Doctor expressed concern that when SCP-035 is combined with the latter, the regenerative abilities of the carrier neutralize the effect of decomposition, providing SCP-035 with a permanent carrier.

Appendix 035-05: After the next escape attempts, the protocol of incidents related to SCP-035 was reviewed by the top management of the Organization. Following the results of the review, an order was given to permanently isolate the object in the place of detention. The provision of new media to the object is prohibited. A number of employees resisted the ban, in some cases up to forceful resistance. As a direct consequence, all personnel who came into contact with SCP-035 were eliminated. From now on, the staff serving SCP-035 should be replaced as often as possible, and their interaction with the object, even in a dormant state, is reduced to the maximum possible minimum.

Appendix 035-06: Recently, employees within 10 meters of SCP-035 have reported a feeling of anxiety, describing it as barely audible unintelligible whispers, in addition, several more people have come down with severe headaches. The object has been placed under observation, but no changes in its sleeping state or any sounds have been recorded.

A new proposal has been made to return SCP-035 access to the media, at least for a limited time, to study the latest changes in the behavior of the object. (Rejected)

Appendix 035-07: The walls of the SCP-035 holding cell suddenly began to emit an unknown black substance. The study of the substance showed that its main component is human blood, heavily contaminated with a number of foreign and unidentified reagents. The acidity level of the substance reaches pH 4.5, and its further impact on the walls negatively affects the integrity of the chamber.
