Loot Beams

Description
A special thank-you to everyone who has supported this small mod that I threw together in a few minutes, I never would have imagined something like this becoming as popular as it is, and for that I am very grateful.

Latest Update:
Extremely minor behavior change to beams, they now fade out when you grab the item, which should make it pretty satisfying to collect a mountain of items from the ground. There's also a small flash when the beam appears, this (like many other things) of course is configurable.

Gives items Borderlands-style loot beams, with the colors corresponding to their rarity. That's about as simple of a description as you can get.
Yes, I know the beams of light on items were popularized by Diablo, I just had Borderlands as my main source of inspiration for the effect.

The mod is fairly configurable, there's a minimum rarity and value of items required for loot beams to appear, a whitelist and blacklist system, and even a way to customize the beam colors for specific items.

If you're using Calamity alongside this mod, I highly recommend also using the Calamity Rarities mod, which can be found here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2853817477

That didn't stop me from making adjustments so that the mod wouldn't look weird at high framerates in some cases, 'cause a couple of content creators I know of use it (They're awesome for that) and happen to have high fps and it kinda bothered me that some animations were happening faster than intended.

That too, hence why I don't personally use it even if I could benefit from it.

Ntm the High FPS mod for Terraria is know to be BUGGY af.

High FPS Support is unnecessary if you don't have a monitor that supports a refresh rate higher than 60Hz. As for the crash, maybe it was just a fluke.

Sorry, I tried to reproduce the crash again today, but it didn't crash.
The visual modification mod I'm using is a prerequisite mod for the Calamity add-on.
The performance mod I'm using is High FPS support.

Not the whole list of course, but what other mods that might touch visuals or improve performance, the latter tends to be unstable with some other mods ironically

Well, I'm unable to replicate your issue with just Loot Beams loaded, what other mods are you using?
atk_256 21 Oct @ 7:36pm
My monitor has a refresh rate of 60Hz.

If my experimental change causes issue for many people then I'll have no qualms with reverting it or trying to make it more stable. I do not use a high refresh rate monitor myself so I cannot feasibly test these changes.

What is the refresh rate for your monitor? An experimental change I've made might be a factor.
