I'm new to it too but it seems that it has a great community and many versions to choose from. Like this one was surprisingly easy to boot and use (and feels much like Windows). I have seen other versions which open terminals and you have to enter commands etc. I guess at this point it's not hard to get into Linux if you really have use for it.

Which is on purpose because the man doesn't want people to be harder to hack, that makes them lose antivirus, firewall, & new PC sales $... :sadpanda:
