Description

You can read while walking.
You can set reading speed in sandbox options.

Bonus Features

Also you can start/stop reading a book by pressing "R". So you can read/fight almost simultaneously using just keyboard.
You can start reading even if the book is in a container nearby, you will take it.
The key "R" is configurable, but it'ok as is, no conflict with building mode and reloading:
- B41: if you have ModOptions.
- B42: native - OPTIONS --> MODS
Pressing the key "R" just doesn't work for reading if you have a gun in you hand or you are in the building mode:

Key "R" priority

Favorite books have more priority. But unfinished book has the most priority.
Inventory books have more priority over books in backpacks, and backpacks have more priority over containers.

Reading Fog and restrictions

Now reading will enable dark "foraging fog" (see the screenshot).
You can tune the darkness while reading in sandbox options.
You can't read in search mode.
Also your fatigue affects your view radius while reading.

Compatibility

It's compatible with future updates of the game (e.g. with build 42+) and any good mods. You may safely enable/disable it. Works in multiplayer. Compatible with the rude mods. The read speed effect (if set) from this mod is accumulated with other mechanics.

This mod used to work for me but now loading into the server results with this problem:

When I remove the mod users can join.

@yourdadWood and other "not working" guys:
This mod is updated.
- Tiny possible fix for Linux users who weren’t subscribed to the separate SearchModeAPI mod.
Now should work.

This is fantastic! The keybind to start/stop reading alone would be a huge QoL impreovement, and being able to read while walking makes good sense (I do that IRL all the time). Thank you so much for this mod!

Thanks for the mod.

Not sure if it's a bug from this mod or from B42 itself but you can read books in the dark if you are inside a car. Or perhaps is this intentional, e.g., the character could be turning on the cabin lights? If that's the case it still doesn't make sense as it works without a key in the ignition
