This is a simple map based on the videos of the channel A-Sync Research

Recreated at the moment:

Q: When is the update?
A: I update this map rarely, many updates just fix the map, and do not add anything else.

A: Why recreate what has already been recreated?


I officially announce: This version is no longer supported, because it has already acquired many bugs and is terribly poorly optimized. It all started with the very first version of the map which only had a library, the level was initially builded incorrectly. After some time i lost the source of the map and i had to decompile one of the compiled ones. Later i ran into the limitations of the compiler and slightly remade the map, posting the latest update. I noticed inconsistencies in the geometry of the map with the camera movements in the videos. And therefore im going to post version 2, which will have improved textures and new levels. I want to explain the reason for the excessively 'protruding' textures: at that time i had problems with the settings of the game and i didnt see that. This was my mistake. I tried to fix it by disabling texture shadows. If you still have protruding textures - this can be fixed by switching one of the console variables(mat_bumpmap 0). This will disable texture shadows on all maps. I will post a new version when i finish the first two videos(total duration about 20 minutes).

@FireGamer1999 Seamless teleportation is not currently supported in this game, as it requires more raw access to the game code. Currently 1 video has been fully recreated, and 4 videos have been partially recreated.

That’s fine if it’s cut into fragments, each series’ layout is huge, let alone combined. Though maybe for A-Sync, you could have a teleporter or smth when you enter the Threshold room that tps you to the main facility. Anyways, me personally I’m the most excited for the current series to be remade since every area is interconnected and would feel like an expansive complex.
Also, besides A-Sync, how much of the videos have you recreated so far?

@FireGamer1999 Yes, i do it, however, there are certain difficulties. For example, the A-Sync laboratory, because of its geometry i cant recreate it fully, it rests against the walls of the B-rooms themselves. Also the sizes of the model(which is near the pre-gate room) and the real B-room do not match. I think it would be better to see it all with your own eyes. For now i only do this up to Found Footage 3, also the map may have to be cut into several fragments, since for example Lost and Found seems to be a separate part. Also in the Source engine there are limitations on the amount of geometry.

@scarecrow Most likely, you just have an overexposure of texture shadows on the map. I removed it in one of the updates, but it seems not completely. This is my mistake, because i had the console variable for displaying texture shadows on maps disabled. I no longer support this map.
Heres what you should do to hide it:
1. Open the game console: Go to the main menu, go to settings. Controls tab -> additional settings. Check box to enable the console in the game. Go to the map and open the console (on ~).
2. Enter the following there: mat_bumpmap 0
Press Enter.
This should help.

To all who are still following this map: im ending support this version of the map, in the description there are reasons for this.
