Arthuruins: Heraldic Shields

In 1 collection by The Gilded Magpie
Magpie and Calico's Wildermyth Visuals
26 items
Description
Offers the option to supply your heroes with the heraldry attributed to six of the Knights of the Round Table.

The shields draw on your hero's primary and secondary colors (so high contrast is best!) and all have customized descriptions with reference to the Arthurian legends. They use the fancy base-game shield's lower layer with a new overlay and can be dropped as loot or crafted at towns/in the chapter interim.

"But which knights' arms are they, Magpie?"

It's a surprise! (It's Kay, Bedivere, Lancelot, Bors, Sagramore, and Tristan.)

"'Arthuruins'? WTH are you talking about, Magpie?"

I'm on a bit of an Arthuriana kick lately, and naturally, my mind turned to how I might incorporate some of those motifs into Wildermyth visuals. Obviously the Yondering lands don't have the political setup for any great just kings to be wandering around now ... but its ancient past certainly includes queens and castles, so why not bundle a bit of that into its archaeology?

Hence, Arthuruins: scraps of material culture that might have survived if you transplanted the setting of the Arthurian legends into the era of Wildermyth's canonical ancient civilizations. Check my workshop for hairs and a name-gen replacer. There will likely also be an augment set once I figure out how early-medieval clothing actually works, and also a Cursed add-on.

Oh! Yes, I doubled a character in the text file, whoops! Thanks for flagging.

Really glad you're enjoying them! I love giving evocative descriptions to my items, so it's cool that they're helping build up your characters' story, too.

Great mod - I really like the sigil descriptions. I like giving them to characters that embody the sigil - for example, the shield that is about "daring to fight on after disabling injuries" is given to one of my characters that has two peg legs.

On that note, that particular shield's description starts with an equals sign (=) whereas the others don't. Not a big deal, just wondering if that's an error?
