What the Penrose tiling is to fivefold symmetry, the Danzer tiling is to sevenfold.

The faction, meanwhile, is intended to be decent all-around with a few mildly atypical weaponry styles.

As this is the first release, balancing is not assured yet. A moderate amount of testing indicates that in AI-to-AI fleet battles, Danzer loses to equal-P well-built Terrans, so it's not *ridiculously* overpowered.
