Downloading the multiplayer component

The first step is to download F.E.A.R. Combat[www.fearcombat.org], which does not require you to own the original F.E.A.R. game on Steam, meaning it is free to play. Click on "Fear Combat Game Files" highlighted in green to download.
Installing the multiplayer component


Once the file is downloaded you'll require to install it. The installation may seem to hang at one point or another, but just patiently wait and it should finish. You will need a CD key to complete the install and play the game, you can acquire one from F.E.A.R.'s multiplayer community site by merely creating an account and logging in.[fear-community.org] Your CD key will appear on the right side of the screen.
In-game
Once the installation is done, you're free to play the game simply by clicking on the multiplayer executioner of the game named FEARMP.exe. It is recommended that once you're in game, you go to your client settings and set your name, insignia, and model up. After you're set, just go to the multiplayer section, press 'find servers' on the top left of the screen, and join one to play!

Latest FEAR Combat SEC2 Versions implemented a New CD-Key system.
You can get a CD-Key by registering (obviously, free) at fear-community
Previous CD-Keys (before 2024) no longer work.

If you try to join a server with your new CD-Key and the server doesn't like It, remember now you register your Player Name too; so you must use both CD-Key AND Player name, as displayed In your Yellow Card.

I can confirm this works in 05-25-25 and will continue working as long as there are players willing to play :)

You can use this Key with your SEC2 Installed Game or The Stock Game; even with the OpenSpy client If you want.
If you are having issues with your New User Activation, use the contact form in the site; we reply withing 24 hours.

Note: The yellow Card with your CD-Key now Is displayed in the Right Sidebar, not the left XD

Currently replaying the first FEAR with the 2 expansions and i'm interest by FEAR Combat, does it have some bots we can play against ?

It does not have yet all sec2 specific features but it is opensource and does not depend on 1-2 people.
No need to register on any site, CDKey can be random.

Please note the game works. The fear-community.org site has been down for technical issues for some days but we continue working on It. The best part is the game works If you have the game updated to last version. ( SEC2 2.1 )

Just tried it. Yes it works, just make sure you also get the patch at the top of the patch list on the website. When you launch the patches installation executable, have it overwrite your "FEARMP" directory.
