Narwhal

The Narwhal is a unique ship built into the chassis of an Orca class submarine. The submarine merchant seemed nervous when you questioned him about the ship, under his breath his explained it was once owned by pirates. The boat had been discovered by a salvage crew after a reported monster attack, and only the necessary repairs were made. The ship's layout had been completely redone, the weapons moved about, and the railgun modified. All the wiring seems to have been replaced by the previous owners, leaving it low-tech and analog. The welds look spotty and any metal surface you see has been recently sanded, clearly a lot of work has been put in to this to sell it. What happened here?
